Tillu Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 Thank you Gukesh for the great Sunday. Please hold on for the next three games. Vickydev, Lone Wolf and rangeelaraja 3
Gollum Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Hope he plays normally in remaining games. No need to stonewall like Karjakin or Giri, not his style. Lone Wolf 1
Gollum Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Can we have 2 Indians fight for the title next time onwards? This kind of tension is unbearable. Arjun/Pragg/Vidit, please step up and win the candidates. Lone Wolf and Tillu 2

Great call. Ba3 basically opened it up for Gukesh, Ding using all the time in moves in response to that randomGuy 1
Gollum Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 (edited) God, please make cricket irrelevant in this country Single biggest waste of national/human resources including time. All SM talk about BGT this, Asia Cup that. Edited December 8, 2024 by Gollum Tillu, New guy, rkt.india and 2 others 1 2 1 1
Tillu Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 Ive been watching all the games with zero tension till now. This win suddenly is making me so tensed about maybe Gukesh losing his advantage in the next three games. Gukesh please win one more game and remove all the tension which is very much possible because Ding will take a lot more risks in the next three games. Vickydev and coffee_rules 1 1
rangeelaraja Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Ding was down a game against Nepo and won match 12 to tie the match and take it to rapid tie breaks which Ding won to become World Champion. So he does have very recent history of fighting back at the fag end of the match. It would be foolish to write Ding off. If Gukesh takes undue risks ( like all experts mildly criticized him for ) , he would be inviting trouble for himself from this advantageous position.
Texan Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Surprise opening tactic by Gukesh worked really well today! It caught Ding by surprise and Ding had already lost more than an hour in the first 10 moves. Gukesh has amazing levels of concentration over long periods of time and it finally tested and got the better of Ding. Well played. Hope he can keep the lead. 3 games to go. coffee_rules 1
Tillu Posted December 9, 2024 Author Posted December 9, 2024 Not feeling good about today's game. That eval bar is giving me a little tension.

Easy position to play for ding... 'position plays itself' as nepo would say..it is upto the fighting spirit of gukesh which he has in abundance. Tillu 1
rangeelaraja Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Gukesh is busted. Ding equalizes. Knew this was coming.
rangeelaraja Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Low on time and in a terrible positon. Gukesh has allowed Ding to equalize the match.
Vickydev Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 c5 looks nasty here. Ding has played an incredible game so far
Vickydev Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Absolutely blown off the board here Gukesh. What a game from Ding
rangeelaraja Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Ding has the heart of a champion. From an absolutely crushing loss yesterday to deliver a crushing win like this in 24 hours takes a lot of character. Aside from the opening prep - he has been the better player than Gukesh.
rangeelaraja Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Seeing the smile and happiness on Anish Giri's face , you just realize -- nobody outside of India is a well wisher. Nobody wants to see an 18 yr old win the crown. Anish was dissappointed yesterday to see Gukesh win, but he is excessively excited and chirpy today to see Gukesh fall.
Vickydev Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Quality from Ding. Top play, worthy of a current World Champion
Tillu Posted December 9, 2024 Author Posted December 9, 2024 I wouldn't blame today's game on Gukesh. Ding didn't plan for it and he luckily got into a very good position where black has zero options. We might see a result tomorrow as well. Hope Gukesh wins tomorrow's game.
