I would say Paddikal seems more talented than him but he earned a chance) Sai Sudarshan- has a lot more upside as a future talent Sarfaraz- much better red ball batsman and has more range and better temperament Jadeja- better bat and fielder and world class spinner Ashwin- better bat and world class spinner Pradosh scored 171 in 200 balls in hid debut for India A in South Africa. He should be given a chance Number, Lord and maniac 2 1 Link to comment

The Realist
2 hours ago, maniac said: Paddikal- Patidar getting chances in Indian middle order is a huge red flag for red ball batting talent in India. They are ok as fringe white ball players. Dravid was big on Project Patidar though that got quietly shelved post-Eng series. Patidar, Paddikal plus Rahul is as meek and weak as it gets. Frustrated
Won't judge him on this type of pitch. It's only his 2nd test. He did reasonably well on his debut test vs Eng earlier this year. Yes, he may not be the best pick. (Sai Sudarsan deserved it more, I guess) But certainly not the worst pick either. Recent selection of players such as Patidar and Sarfaraz (which should hv never been given Ind cap) is far more shocking. Link to comment

Scoring runs in FC hardly matters when he is a proven TTF in intl cricket. (Failed in 10 out of 12 innings on home pitches) Edited November 23 by Frustrated Link to comment

(Failed in 10 out of 12 innings on home pitches) Proven TTF with 3 50s and 1 ton in 6 Tests? yeah great. Paddikal even failed in FC. How is he better than supposed TTF Sarfaraz? Sarfaraz is better just on account of scoring runs in FC. Though thats not saying much. Link to comment

Scored 65 in the 1st one. Duck in 2nd (where everyone failed). Thats not a failure by any means. Let me rephrase the question for you. "Do u really believe Sarfaraz would hv scored anything on this wicket against this Aus lineup in the 1st inning when the conditions were tough?" Link to comment

Hard to not do that lol. Thats all I claimed in my original post. Paddikal hasnt even done well in FC so doesnt deserve to play Tests in first place. putrevus 1 Link to comment
cricspirit
His career will be like a placeholder backup player. Don't think he would go anywhere in tests. Link to comment
deepdynamo
Patidar, Sarfaraz and Paddikal- don't have solid game for all conditions. They came through Ranji but not looking part in International. Our best bet is to convert Jurel into a specialist batsman. That may work. Lord 1 Link to comment
vvvslaxman
I listened to a few Australian analysts. Everyone is unanimously praising Paddikal for his 2nd innings. They didn't have complaint about his first innings too. They believe he dind't look out of place. Do we miss something here? They are confident Jurel is the one that has to be left out. No, if we've to pick one, Jurel is the person to pick. He got a poor decision in the 2nd innings and looked so much better in the 1st. Aussies don't know our players just like they overpay for Aus players in IPL instead of picking the right youngsters. Link to comment
Adamant
Why am I hearing that Rohit will replace Jurel and not Paddikal, is the Indian TM daft? Also where would you play Paddikal now that Rohit is back? Link to comment
