It takes a hell lot to turn me from a hardcore fan to a borderline hater ....

Recommended Posts

Anyways, I've never been a hater simply because a certain player performs better than my favourite player. Despite my annoyance towards him, I'm still supporting Kohli to come good in this series or be dropped for the rest of the Tests. Him performing well means it'll benefit my team.

The only thing is I don't want to see him in the Test team after this series. I might not want a certain player in my team, but once he is selected I'll want him to come good.

By the way, what type of a ridiculous logic is this that we have won our last 2 Test series in Australia, and can hence afford to lose this one? Is this a joke! Is this how the all conquering Aussie team from the end of the 1999 WC till the end of the 2007 WC believed?

Look at that Aussie team. They lost to England in the Ashes of 2005 in the absence of McGrath, and in return chewed that England team to bits and spat away their pieces in the 2006 Ashes.

Kohli will continue to fail and nothing will happen. In fact he'll be one of the first names in the CT squad as well despite absolutely no performance across formats. At the moment you literally have to hope for someone higher up (nepo baby Jay Shah or his dad) to have pity on us and kick him out coz selectors don't have the balls to do so.

Forget Tendulkar, Kohli in tests is not even ahead of Dravid, Laxman or Sehwag based on the impact they had. At the moment he doesn't get into India's all-time XI based on his stats & record, and things will only get worse as the series goes on.

Jay shah is a Kohli fanboi. You could see ir post T20 world cup, Kohli ient going anywhere.

Ya that's so that his fanbois and PR online can project it that way.

His army on X has been quiet for a considerable amount of time. Same is the case with Babar and Rohit fans. All those fan boys know is to put down other players to flatter their ego. Babar fans compare everything about their hero including his hair style to his pooping positions with Kohli's, while Kohli and Rohit fans keep degrading Tendulkar to derive satisfaction.

Nothing better than to see them in agony after being kicked on their balls by their own hero's performances.

Dost log, I dare anyone on the forum to name just 1 Indian player ever that has survived such a long and horrendous bad patch. I don't know if there are any such player before 1970, but since then I can't think of any.

Dhoni dragged himself in the ODIs. Though not as long as Kohli.

Can give dhoni the 2nd spot

can we get some fresh new batsman to score ducks please? fed up of kohli getting them

Far better for upcoming and promising youngsters to score ducks. At least we can hope for them to eventually  come good and represent India for a long time like both Kohli and Rohit did. What good would a 36 year old and 37 year old batsman scoring ducks and single digit scores do for the team?

Yes, despite me wanting both Rohit and Kohli to be dropped immediately, I also want youngsters to emulate them back when they both were at their peaks.

Kohli dropped the catch. LOL, you must really hate him now.

My problem with him is the primary discipline why is picked in the team for - Batting.

I can't even fathom to think how the situation would have been if Sachin replicated what Kohli has been doing since 2019.

I have never been a Kohli hater, nor am I one now.

Admired his batting, his spirit.

Outside cricket I like the seeming woke nature of the guy, given I think that way too.

However from a cricket standpoint, forget the series, he should be given just this one last innings to come good.

In no measure of data, or even gut feel, does he now deserve a longer run.

It’s been five years.

One more innings.  Perform, stay.  Don’t, go.

Congrats, 'King' Kohli! You have successfully done it. The only time it has happened to me were with Azhar and Jadeja. But that was because of them fixing matches, not their performance.

At his peak, I was wondering whether he was better than even Viv or Sachin, whether he was a machine or mere mortal.  Now I'm questioning myself whether he has been as good as another legend by the name of Matthew Hayden. Absolute insult for Hayden to be compared to the 'King'.

P.S. I'm speaking of Test cricket.

Your post is 5 years late . Elephant in the room has been a tourist carried by runs from jadeja ashwin and pant

Pipedream. He has this whole series. We need to live with that, and hope that he grits his way into a few good knocks.

I don’t disagree, that he will play this series.

I was stating that in an ideal world he should get only one innings to perform.

And my worry is for him too, the great player he was.  I fear that he’s going to f@ck his Test legacy even worse than it is now, his average is 47.83 and in free fall.  10 more innings of mediocrity will take it even further down.
