CoverDrive
Shows value of experience. He is not at his best but contributes with his effort and consistency. Plays his part like what Ishant used to do. Also shows value of pace and being brisk. He is not the quickest but quick enough to beat people with movement on helpful pitches Link to comment

Sharam karo May be 25% Hyd bias but I have been fan of him from day 1 even when he had a disastrous start. Always said he will rock it in red ball cricket. Only thing I am disappointed with him is I thought he will run through sides on Indian pitches like Shami and Yadav but he has been more impressive in overseas conditons. However his attitude has won me over. I have pointed out many times before, some of the dives he puts in the outfield show extreme commitment and are risky but people look at drop catches etc and laughed at him and called a poor fielder when is not.His bowling can improve still but amazing to watch when he gets it right. Can run through line ups. Edited November 26 by maniac Rightarmfast and nevada 2 Link to comment

vvvslaxman
When you watch his interviews you want to root for this guy. Hope he develops other skills to survive on docile tracks. Umesh, Shami like ability he needs to acquire. Link to comment
maniac
Have a feeling, he will run riot under lights in pink ball. He is usually one of those kind of bowler who in rhythm runs through line ups kind of like Sreeshanth, Ishant etc. Rightarmfast 1 Link to comment

deathmonger
Reverse Umesh Yadav. Doesn't have the attributes to do well on flatter pitches in India (pace, reverse). Should not play in India much. Rightarmfast 1 Link to comment

He is usually one of those kind of bowler who in rhythm runs through line ups kind of like Sreeshanth, Ishant etc. Siraj would do well to replicate Ishant. Ishant towards the end of his career was brilliant. In his last 26 Tests Ishant picked 85 wickets at 21 with a SR of 46. If Siraj has anything close to that in his next 20+ Tests he would serve India well. Ishant was very consistent bowler in latter half and did not under perform in any country. Look at the break up: Ishant Average in countries during that period: Australia - 23.8 England - 26 India - 21 (Considering the type of pitches India had during that time, this was impressive) NZ - 15 SA - 18.7 WI - 12.3 This shows he was one of the top bowlers in the world over those 3 years. Ishant did not get to play long enough in that peak which could have gotten his average down. The difference between Ishant and Siraj is that the former hardly leaked runs even when he wasn't picking wickets. Ishant is tall with high action and got lot of bounce which meant batters couldn't line him up in Tests. Siraj bowls fuller lengths and if he misses even by a bit he could go for runs on pitches where there is no swing. Sreesanth is a better comparison. The above record shows that Ishant did very well in all countries and was very economical as well. His record in India being the standout. Siraj struggles in India because he does not get swing and except for his cross seam in dipper he does not have many variations on such wickets. He needs to develop his bowling but again for now he is good for overseas Tests and for India we can have Harshit or Akashdeep. In India Siraj's average is 37 with an economy rate of 3.5, that is not good enough. Ultimate_Game 1 Link to comment

putrevus
I cannot imagine how Dravid and Rohit dropped Shami for this guy in last World Cup. On his good day he is support bowler and other days he is just waste of a spot. Link to comment
