BCCI should push for trophhies named after SRT,Dravid, Kapil too If NZ wins this series 2-0 or 3-0 then we can kiss rhe WTC goodbye.. Because even if we make the final by beating Australia , our final will be against these effing Kiwis who will hammer us again. Imagine Jamieson and O'Rourke on an early summer Lords wicket... SA vs NZ final is possible even in that scenario. I guess. Link to comment
Nikhil_cric
NZ are looking very, very good. Typical NZ at their best - efficient , resilient, a well oiled unit. Poms are playing Bethell at #3 and Pope as makeshift keeper and hoping for miracles. Link to comment

Effectively, South Africa is the most well poised team right now to make the final. They can afford to even drop a test against SL or Pak. Australia has that additional series in Sri Lanka where their % would likely go even further down.. Link to comment

maniac
RIP to both but Thorpe was not at Martin Crowe’s level. Maybe recency bias. Maybe a bigger name would have been better .It may sound mean but just speaking from a cricketing perspective. Not Intended to insult. Edited November 27 by maniac Ultimate_Game 1 Link to comment

QuarantineTormentino
Normally I don’t care much for players other than Indians but seeing Williamson bat in tests is really joyful Link to comment
Serpico
Looks like we're heading towards a world where Kane Williamson averages more than Steve Smith. Bleak Link to comment

I didn't remember at all that Graham Thorpe is no more...maybe in my subconscious mind I was mixing him up with Graham Gooch, who was a prolific batter in his playing days. maniac 1 Link to comment

I think Thorpe is underrated because he didn't play much in Asia. He had mental health issues while touring in Asian countries. His record in West Indies against Walsh Ambrose is pretty good.
