Vaibhav didnt score well in Ranji trophy debut and also nothing agsinst Aus 19 after the hundred..

Since he is an agressive and raw batter you will have to give him time..could be hit or miss during these initial days of his career..

So dont expect hevwill take world by the storm initially..

And that begs the question - why did a franchise pay him that much? He isn't ready for domestic, forget IPL. When likes of Shaw, Mayank and other more accomplished batters failed to get in, spending more than the base price (IIRC he went for more than a crore) makes it seem something is off.

It's not just one franchise. Two franchise were in bidding war. Both had called him for trial.  He was given a scenario in the RR trial. Had to score 17 runs in some balls. He hit 3 sixes and cleared the trial. Though still he is too young for IPL.

Along with the batting talent..He is also marketable due to very young age..

Bone test is one of the mst reliable and accepted way.

As for IPL teams trying to get some1 in their team depends up on several things. He got publicity recently, got an u19 100. Will be selected for in U19 wc. He had media attention so teams would be interested to get him. Its v.likely if 1 team goes fr certain player more often other too give 1/2 bid just to get the value-up

He may end-up sitting on the bench and then dropped.

MI picked Mapaka and Brevis who played few games and sat out in most other of the games, both got some kind of media attention. Brevis went unsold this seaon

I really find it surprising that a genuine 13 year old was able to hit 3 6s in a few balls. He's too young for u-19 as well.

He is already tested for age by BCCI.

Bro I've been curious about it for quite a while now. Shouldn't under-19 only include players who are "under" 19 yrs of age? I.e upto 18 years? If 19 ur olds are eligible then shouldn't it be under 20? English ain't my lang so pls go easy on me if I sound silly :((

There is certain cut-off date by which player has to be u19. So if there is a player who was U19 till that certain date then they are eligible to play u19 WC.

It may happen that at the game day player is 19+ndays then its okay

ICC has a cut off date September 1. U19 wc is usually played in January so a player born on September 1 will be 19 year 4 months old when he plays the WC. That's the max cut of age.

Yeah me too but his physical age is more than his actual age by one year. Usually in u14 cricket, boundary size is 45 meter. I have seen 13 year olds in our academy. They can't hit 60-70 yard sixes but he does. He scored 58 ball 100 against Aus u19, the only good innings he has played in u19 till now.

The thing is no 1 heard of him before this year when he turned up fr state team. V.uusual if there is some1 who can make it to state team at u15 and not yet written or talked about in Ind media. Yes he is nt from big city or team like mum or del or karntk but still

Also what is his record in ag grp cricket any big runs some where.
