i know! i'm half way through. the scientist in full flow

Sam here 40 minutes into it. One of the most engaging interview. I am not sure if our batsmen like Gill do analysis like this. They can become better if they do analysis like this.

there's some pent up digs at kohli and rohit for sure!

Won't call that a dig. But his end note is perfect.  In everyone's journey they are the hero not Kohli or ROhit or Sachin.  Philosophical note. Hope some news media doesn't take  it out of context and share a stupid title.  It has to be one of the best interview. The thing about the interview is Nas and Athers hardly asked many questions. Ashwin explored various facets of his cricketing career on his own

He should have just stop the super star culture , hate it when ppl are cryptic.. but kudos to him to atleast try and address it ..  he needs to call it out .. since he is out ppl should put it on his YouTube channel , X all platforms . One person that can probably talk his mind clearly .

After watching pdog .. would be great if he gets signed for bbl , the hundred , cpl .. will show a new path forward for Indian cricketers . Don’t play for India , just play the leagues local and international ..

He gives it back to cricket a lot more.

Comes with experience. Though I doubt even Rohit does such analysis lol

If he doesn't come under pressure from BCCI bigwigs, I think Ashwin can develop into a rare good commentator/expert from the subcontinent.

That'd be waste of his expertise. We need him to coach youngsters

I feel the opposite.

Ashwin might be a good coach....

But i feel he would be better served to educate the market.

The more educated fans are, the more pressure on BCCI to appoint proper coaches.

Ashwin's old coach Sunil Subramaniam is an amazing coach who is barely known outside.

I know this cos my close friends got coached by him and all of them have high regards for Ashwin but the reverence they have for the coach is next level.

If India had any sense, they never would have let Bharat Arun get away.

We need more education. Less glamour.

if Sunil Subramanium was in commentary, we wouldn't have got Ashwin.

Fans are educated enough. BCCI bows down to money only.

It's not that India has lack of coaches.

Ashwin's impact will be far more for Indian cricket if he is allowed to speak his mind.

Dude ended the chucking menace with a press conference and his full sleeve antics in a game.

He made Mankad normal in IPL.

You need massive reach to effect large changes.

Being a coach where you can't voice out your opinion might produce 1-2 spinners but you don't get reach there.

Today you are seeing memes about Kohli and Rohit which is creating pressure on BCCI.

What's happening right now

Bad results --> People's eyes opening up --> Criticism --> BCCI forced to take action

But we can't always wait for bad results.

We lost potentially 2 WTC titles because of this.

What we need is:

Knowledge --> People's eyes opening up --> Criticism --> BCCi forced to take action

Ashwin is more valuable reaching the masses than being in a silent role.

My personal take.

Ash would make a good commentator/analyst but I really hope he goes into coaching.

His personal journey of working on fitness/skills is very impressive .

We need coaches and trainers who can actually get athletes to the next level of at least point them in the right direction .

Not step fatherly treatment

Indeed, Ashwin can be a good coach.

He is very similar to Kumble thought wise, Kumble too was very articulate in his planning and was a fighter.

Only reservation is people with that kinda mind are generally too rigid with their own plans. It works well with youngsters but experienced players take it up on their ego.
