Work in progress.

After long time he has played successfully without injury.

Picked up 7 wkts in 3 games in VHT.

He is not that tall, do not think he will have any intnl. career. Should have worked on his batting skills.

yes, he was better as a batter at 16-17 than he is now.

Karun Nair is killing it.

5 innings. 600 runs. Dismissed just once. SR > 100.

One of the rare guys who hit a Test 300 and then got dropped. Never saw a lot of him. He must have some talent.

Yep. It was unfortunate that he did not get a longer rope, but he did not distinguish himself in domestic FC to force his way back in.

@Vijy our guy Ayush Mhatre hit blistering 140+ against Saurashtra and picked up a wkt too..

also Purnank Tyagi moved from UP to railways due to lack of opportunities and picked up a 5fer

Purnank is another swing bowler, bowls massive inswing at a decentish pace 135ish.

How is 6 match enough sample size for someone who scored 300?

I always see this excuse defending his dropping. Players need time to get going sometimes

Those who defend such dropping deserve roko for another 5+ years

Seems it was enough for TM at that time to drop him..

Karun Nair is now 33 years old I think.  That ship has sailed.

He has improved his game, which is evident when you watch him play. Can definitely be tried in tests over many options we keep playing. Age would be a factor if he was on decline but that's not the case.

those are really good signs. mhatre should get fast-tracked to "A" tours and thence to int'l squad.

Fast bowler pipeline is running dry since Raju Kulkarni, Ankola, Kuruvilla days in 90s  to Agarkar, Zaheer and Mahambrey in 2000s. Dhawal Kulkarni was the last notable pacer.  Also, don't seem to have a gun keeper for some reason.
