Indian limited over matches are usually day affairs in England.

T20s are barely played under lights too

Being done to cater to Indian audience via broadcaster.

Complete opposite in Aus/NZ where we exclusively play night T20's and D/N ODIs.

These timings are not unusual. Almost all domestic T20 games are also evening games.

ODIs also have day night matches starting around the same time ( 1 pm local).

Since it stays light till 9pm during July, only the last hour or so in either format will really need floodlights

Indian ODIs were used to be morning or afternoon games in England.

T20s were day affairs.

This upcoming tour has only one day game.  So they have changed things up this time that was the point

India-WI tests in Ahmedabad and Delhi (yikes)

India-RSA tests in Kolkata and Guwahati (wtf)

Delhi in October means smog, bad press, torture for players and crowds. Who can forget the shame of 2017 Kotla test against Lanka? Even AICF had better sense and shifted October's FIDE WC from Delhi to Goa (99% confirmed), and chess is an indoor game.

And who schedules December test  in Guwahati yaar? Sun there sets at 4 pm, bad light will be a problem from 3:30, forget the extra 30 minutes also....we'll be lucky to have 65-70 overs per day even with spinners operating for most of the day. In fact bad light will be a problem in Kolkata as well.

BCCI is run by g_ndus, sub 75 IQ specimens.

Nope, first time.

Unless it is an 8 am start, dunno how they will make it work.

8-10

10:40-12:40

13-15

with additional 30 minutes buffer till 15:30 to finish overs.

Seriously, India needs multiple time zones.

Hope Bumrah plays these 2 match test series (and Afghanistan). Can skip ODIs/T20s.

What hurts his stats are almost no matches against weak teams.

Only 2 matches each against Bang, SL, WI against whom he averages 12.81, 9 and 9.23 respectively.

I think this farce is down to satisfy the quotas of regional representation. They will have to satisfy various groups. They do not have the luxury of ECB or Cricket Australia.

I dont think he is going to skip white ball cricket- I mean i think he should skip the WI tests.. india have enough spinners to dismantle WI at home. He can play the white ball matches and SA home tests

white ball matches are useless.

test wickets still mean a thing. should statpad a bit. doesn't even need to bowl much. do the opening overs and blow out the tail. get 8-10 wickets at an average of 10.

No cricket till Home series vs WI till Oct 02. 2 months of rest and self-discovery

Not much top-tier cricket left this year. Ind-RSA 2 test series in December, Ashes which starts in Nov. In fact even next year, till IPL, we only have the T20 WC.

Asia Cup is there if India doesn't withdraw.

More meangingless ODIs and Tonty-Tontys. Also what is the point of playing 2 tests in NZ? Play a proper 3 test series.
