BCCI should hire PDogg as Chief Analyst/Assistant Coach!!!!!

Recommended Posts

PDogg worked as an analyst for CSA for like 10-12 yrs. He has also worked as an analyst for RCB for some time..

He speaks with a clarity of thought.

Indian cricket team can field multiple teams for different formats.

Selection process has been the biggest reason why we have lost out on so ICC events since 2013.

Listen to this cricket podcast. It is in English.

I have heard from one of SA commentators that he used to work for Rafa Nadal camp back in 2007/08 to help Nadal's camp beat Federer on grass court which happened in Wimbledon 2008.

We have better ones. I watched his videos on Ashwin and checked his work on various websites and his own Twitter page. He knows next to nothing about cricket, his takes are hilarious.

The guy Dravid hired was good. We have a team of analysts anyway, even if they don't get mentioned in news.

I know many people (personally) who have collected much more data than we can imagine. All this is possible because of a few companies which collect ball to ball data during live matches and gives it to people for a fee.

It seems to be a hobby among data analysts. But very few of these know what data is actually relevant, only those interested in cricket can turn it into something useful.

What for? We need BCCI admins and selectors with balls instead. When likes of Kohli and Rohit can walk into the team despite any performances, what will teh "analysis" do?

Wait for the CT squad and you'll see Rohit and Kohli in there and our best all format batter Jaiswal missing out. With such glaring holes no analyst or analysis is gonna add much value.

There must be something in him, which made him part of Team Rafa to take down Federer on grass, probably the biggest sporting saga of the 2000s. Maybe he doesn't reveal all his cards on YT.

Yes Dravid was working with Himanish Ganjoo who is quite good but I doubt he'll work with someone as stubborn as Gambhir

Not true. He is pretty knowledgeable.  Maybe not Cricviz or Himanish Ganjoo level.  But this guy has a proven track record both with SA and with T20 domestic teams like Guyana Warriors etc.

Problem for India is that you need a management that unlike the previous Rahul Dravid regime which actively pushed for greater analysis at various levels,  GG doesn't seem to be bothered as much.

Giving Gyan on YouTube vs being part of dressing room and especially Indian dressing room and navigating all the egos, politics etc is a totally different beast.

True. No doubt.

Also, this is why we suck as a nation.

We will give 10,000 reasons on why we should wallow in mediocrity instead of confronting reality.

(Remember the time when posters said there was no alternative to Dhoni the test captain. I remember those days. )

Its the job of BCCI management to create an environment for the experts to do their job (whoever it may be).

It's not the job of PDogg to mollycuddle egoistic non-performers who think they are God's gift to mankind.
