Real McCoy
Nole wins. What a champion. He looked toast for almost 2 sets with Alcaraz playing awesome tennis. Yet he somehow wins the 2nd and plays standout tennis in the 3rd and 4th to win the match. He still got it. Don't know if he will win the tournament but I think Zverev is no match for him mentally. Zverev played a lousy match against Paul who dominated him for 3 sets but managed to win the match in 4. Texan, Gollum and nevada
Gollum
Sinner overwhelming favorite to win the trophy imo. First match I watched this AO and enjoyed the tennis. Alcaraz saving BP late in 4th set was peak Big 3 level tennis. Real McCoy

Doesn't he hold the record titles in AO? Edited January 21 by coffee_rules Real McCoy and Gollum

I thought Alcaraz will break back in the next few Nole service games and take it to the 5th set. Not to be. If it was a 5set match, this one would be the match of the tournament. Djokovic clearly the favourite. Other than Sincaraz there really isn't anyone who can stop him. Even declined version of him is too much for these folks. Glad he is not taking this lying down, western media should grow up for once. He is throwing his toys out of the pram, nothing else. There was no targeting , just some random dude having some fun with Serbian fans, nothing to see here. If anything he insulted Jimmy by walking out on him, but Jimmy isn’t going to make a big deal of it. Edited January 24 by Sandz
Gollum
Sad way to end the campaign, probably his last real shot at AO, speedy recovery champ !!!! Shame on Aussie crowd for booing an injured player, uptight Anglo trash. Zverev."Please guys, dont' boo a player when he goes out injured.I know that everybody paid for tickets, but Novak Djokovic gave to this sport everything he had in the last 20 years. Won this tournament with an abdominal and hamstring tear. Show some love". pic.twitter.com/SHYfWkKd5R— José Morgado (@josemorgado) January 24, 2025 Real McCoy
Gollum
Read that Keys-Swiatek SF was a match for the ages, bummed I missed that. Not often you get classics in women's tennis, especially true in the last 10 years or so. I had a feeling Keys could cause an upset, should have gone with my intuition and watched this clash. Sabalenka and Swiatek yet to meet in a GS final, so odd. So near, yet so far...an anomaly like Fed and Rafa never meeting in USO.
Gollum
If Keys wins this AO, will be one of the greatest ever runs by a woman to win a major. Beating Collins, Rybakina, Svitolina, Swiatek consecutively, if she can also beat Sabalenka, will be a jaw dropping run. Can you guys remember a similar run in women's side? Denying Zverev a legit victory by rage quitting, or quitting because he has no fight left in him is distasteful from Nole. He might be injured but he was certainly mobile and agile enough to go toe to toe with Zverev for an hour and a half. Not rage quit, genuine injury. No fight lol, you talking about Nole, not Kyrgios. Edited January 24 by Gollum

He could've given a walkover like he did at the FO.

He also said that, had he lost the second set against Alcaraz he would've retired from the match. So basically, he's lost the fighting ability. There's no motivation now. Had Djokovic won the first set, I'm pretty sure he would've carried on. Injury is secondary. He's supposedly played with tears in the past and won tournaments as well. He probably feels he can't go through the likes of Alcaraz+ Zverev + Sinner. Sandz

Even I used to say why he retires mid match. But I think we don't understand him that much. He didn't quit in USO 24 against Popyrin, USO 21 against Medvedev and in previous times when he went down to Chung and istomin. So its not like he deliberately quits when things don't work in his favor. Gollum and coffee_rules
