This is what happens when there isnt a proper pipeline system by BCCI and TM to ensure the replacement players of seniors are also up to mark and have a pool of pacers to rotate around in a long test series. Having 5/6 good and tested test bowlers mean we dont have to rely on ONE player all the time And the sad part is that armchair cricket fans at ICF knew what was happening and were calling for an extra seamer to save Bumrah. I could see Bumrah getting injured and wanted an extra seamer as the seamer would've given us a better chance while saving Bumrah. But we had to go with extra batting depth to protect has beens like Rohit and Kohli in BGT. Both of them should've been dropped after NZ series, and they don't deserve a spot in Tests. Muloghonto Posted March 13 Posted March 13 problem isnt bumrah bowled in 5 tests.or that he bowled too many overs. Problem is, Rohit used a 2.5 bowling attack, pretty much bowling bumrah + siraj into the ground and using all the other bowlers as a 5th bowler option. Bumrah didnt bowl too many overs on the trot. He came back too fast for 2nd/3rd/4th spells and over and over in the whole series. the insanity of Rohit was mindboggling here: I mean forget Bumrah, if you wanted to break even *THE* unbreakable ironman of fast bowling - Courtney Walsh - you woudl come up with same plan - pick 4 bowlers, but make Walsh bowl 30% of the overs while u use only 3 bowlers in rotation and bring him back every 1.5 hours.

And Walsh was a medium fast bowler unlike Bumrah.
