coffee_rules
Seems like a good movie to watch on the big screen. Vicky Kauahal has acted well in the trailer Bollywood is imitating south cinema , Sambaji looks like Yash from KGF/Allu Arjun of Pushpa. ravishingravi
Actually Maratha empire deserves a long series. Largest and most successful empire of this land that really laid first workings of civilizational nation state. coffee_rules and singhvivek141

Will they use the word "Hindvi Swarajya" ? Coz that was the motive of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Hindvi Swarajya was for which Sambhaji Maharaj laid his life and didn't choose Islam. 2. Whether they will show the real motive of Aurangzeb or will paint some other picture like "Aurangzeb wanted to loot". 3. Dance is super cringe AuxiliA, LordPrabhzy and coffee_rules

At least the war cry of Har Har Mahadev was shown which was never a Maratha war cry like Jai Bhavani! That’ll resonate nationwide . You can’t expect all of political correctness you want, but a good start, at least from the trailer. Aurangzeb’ will definitely be shown as a war lord than a religious bigot that he was . He was a cinematographer of English Vinglish. His first popular movie was Luka Chupi or Mimi. Low key features. This is a mega release.

Ofcourse, it was deafened by the BGM which followed afterwards. On performance side, Vicky Kaushal seems promising..hope he does the same in movie as well. Akshay Khanna as Aurangzeb will be interesting, I think his acting range is very underrated. Rashmika again as usual is speaking without opening her mouth . Priyanka's character in Bajirao Mastani is still the pinnacle for me in modern Bollywood for period acting. coffee_rules

That's why I dont want them to make movies on historical figures. There are enough historical epics in modern history right from Maratha Emipre to Sisodia Rajputs of Mewar to Ahoms to Chola Samarajya. But they will goof up everything. Salon ne Adipurush me Bhagwan Ram ke character ko bhi nahi chhoda. coffee_rules and AuxiliA 1

I am curious to see whether they will show Sambhaji's death fully or will try to dilute it by a mere simple execution. coffee_rules and ravishingravi 1

It's too brutal and most importantly the "motive" behind is isnt something which Bollywood is known for. They may even show Sambhaji as a "lootera" who is snatching the gold from Mughal Empire. Read about his execution once, too traumatized. These Mughal barbarians were something else, what they did to the Sikh generals (like Banda Bahadur), Guru Tegh Bahadur, Guru Gobind's kids, and Sambhaji. Can't believe they have admirers in today's India. Lone Wolf, Laaloo, coffee_rules and 2 others

No , worse is showing it as a personal enmity between Aurangzeb and Sambaji as medieval rulers without any religious angle. Tegh Bahudur , Guru Govind’s sons , Sambaji were all brutally killed for not converting to Islam. Bollywood will never show that part of history for sure. singhvivek141

coffee_rules
Aurangzeb, Tipu , Timur are still celebrated by Indian Muslims even now. Despite what the history or their own personal accounts say. Aurungabad city name change to Chatrapati Sambhajinagar was so much resisted even after such history recorded of how he was brutally killed ! It will be a tough watch to see this movie

From the trailer they showed him being tied up & all in blood so I think narrative won't be a issue. Assuming it isn't all bait. I at least hope they provide some post credits info to tell what exactly happened to him even if they can't outright show the brutality.

Even our NCERT history books only provide couple of lines about his invasion. The scale of the massacre he carried is unheard of. Perhaps only Genghis surpassed him in sheer brutality. coffee_rules

Umar Fayaz's funeral, you can count the numbers. Majority of the crowd was from close family and his co officers. coffee_rules
