Can NEVER ever trust Brothelwood to depict Hindu Culture and History in an accurate or even respectful manner. All they can make is Cringe, 'Secularly' distorted movies.

This Marathi(Hindi dubbed) movie on Sambhaji Maharaj released just a month ago and is Far Far better. Just check out the trailer and then compare it with the Brothelwood crap..

Really intense, nice bgm. The action sequences seem maybe a bit over the top but that's ok it's just a trailer, they have to create some reel worthy moments.

I trust Vicky Kaushal to do a stellar job. Him and Rajkumar Rao are the only two actors in Bolly who can pull off any role IMO. As long as Rashmika and her terrible accent stays out of focus it should be fine

Also that poor Lion trying to tap out UFC style, but no referee to save your sorry @$$ bitch

This Trailer looks underwhelming.

Vicky and Akshaye are terrific actors.  So far the trailer was good enough.  We will see the narrative only after movie releases.

What underwhelming? The Marathi movie might have been made on a low budget and can't match the Heeramandi style grandeur of Brothelwood but it depicts the true emotions of that time.

No point in having great actors and gorgeous sets if the storyline itself isn't accurate. Especially in case of a sensitive historical movie like this.

Just watch Brothelwood make this movie about 'Secular' Marathis vs outsiders instead of it being about protecting Hindu Dharma from Genocidal Islamic invaders, which was the main motive of Shivaji and his sons.

Im nervous about the true motives of Sambhaji maharaj to fight Aurangzeb and what is being shown. If they show this as a maratha king trying to protect his own people than fighting to protect Hindutva then its eaningless whitewhing.

If they dont show the actual forced conversions, rapes, temple destructions done by Aurangzeb which is the catalyst and then trying to humanise him and his struggles as a Delhi sultanate ruler trying to only quell a 'rebellion' then this is woke BS randiwood propaganda. I have a feeling the makers will try to monkey balance and not show Aurangzeb tin that bad a light and also tone down the Hindutva resistance element.

And finally if they dont show the true nature of how Maharaj ji was tortured and killed un the end then again its Mughal whitewashing

Padmavat was very good from this pov they showed Khilji as evil & as unhinged as he was.  I mean Rajputs literally were literally breathing down the makers neck if any other way narrative was spinned.

Tanhaji was pro Marathas and had anti Rajputs undertones I didn't like it.

Panipat was openly anti Rajputs my gosh they absolutely wrecked it & even showed Rajputs betraying in the middle of the battle but in reality no Rajput fought in Panipat.

No one asked Sadashiv Rao to get too emotional & charge straight into enemy ranks & even his own guards couldn't spot him.   Faltu Mai hero bana rahe the.

Ibrahim Gardi was captured alive and brutally tortured by Abdali but as per movie everyone died in The battle lol.

Tanhaji was made better only coz the anti hero was a Rajput. Hence, it was easier to make him a vile guy and no one will raise any voice.

In comparison, had it been a Mughal defender then he would have been shown as someone who recites 5 times namaaz and would be shown praying before the final battle with Tanhaji Malsure.

Bollywood can’t do without dancing.. cringe, esp in historical movies.

Song and dance are part of us man. Either as mass-ish as janapadams or as classic as Bharatanaatyam. It's our own form of story telling.

Not in serious cinema. How'd find Gandhi dancing around trees with Kasturba?

Already seen in trailer - removed the term Hindavi and just said Swarajya (self rule). Bhaiwood Will certainly remove the communal angle, no Hindu Muslim comparison. Marathi movie looks better.

Yes I agree. But the problem is that Indian movies over do the musicals. A good musical song is one which seamlessly drives the storyline forward. Majority of Indian movies have songs just for the sake of it and feel very out of place in the storyline.

I haven't watched Tanhaji or Padmavat but remember seeing a bwood news headline of Timur-loving Saif saying that the (Rajput) character he played in Tanhaji was the most vile figure in Indian history lol.

Just like in Fighter and Skyforce.. so needless.

Imagine a dance number in Saving Private Ryan- do indian film makers have the guts and ability to showcase war and death in the same graphical way or focus more on CGI and dance numbers

Yes. Songs must not be for relaxing the bladder. It has to drive the story forward.

How in the heck did they get away with spelling तानाजी and make it look like तन्हाजी.

तन्हाजी? What even is that? "Alone" ... but with respect?

Did no one proofread it?

Perhaps H was silent.  They probably thought Tanaji was equivalent to Tana (taunt):sherlock:
