Yes exactly. Pant is an upgrade over Saha, but Dhoni was poor keeper to pace in SENA and not much of a great bat either. Lets not forget Saha saved us with a ton in WI. Dhoni averages 22 there. infact he doesnt have a ton in SENA+WI. Saha could have been more useful there. But catching is not even considered nowadays :((

Dhoni is the most overrated cricketer sportsperson in history. Lucky guy, that I will give......extremely lucky.

The damage he did to Indian cricket is so excessive and long-lasting whether it be his shenanigans with Srini/CSK mafia, sacking of CS Amarnath or going after Bhogle just because he was doing his job in commentary, Indian cricket is still paying for all that, now much worse. And when will Mudgal report be made public?

Saha blocking Pant is another myth that needs to be busted. Pant became part of the team since 2018 tour to England

Saha only got a few tests against RSA/BD after that (we crushed opponents in all those games and didn't even need his batting, only 3 innings in 5 completed tests, as Mayank/Rohit/Kohli all were scoring big 100s, 200s). Then the Adelaide test, that was a blunder by TM, anyway we lost due to collective failure, can't pin 36 all out on just one guy.

Played two more tests against NZ in 2021 when Pant was out injured. Did decently there including a clutch 60 not out in Kanpur when we were 100/6 in third innings, a losing position. If not for those crucial runs by Iyer, Saha and Ashwin we would have lost that match as well.
