IMO to play the kind of cricket we're trying to, need to replace Bishnoi with Parag. When Bumrah comes in, he can cover a lot of cracks but we can't have someone like Shami walking in with 2-3 overs to go.

at no. 9 it has to be Bumrah

TM need to bowl him more

They could drop Bishnoi and play a genuine paceman if Abhishek was given more confidence in his bowling even a tidy two over burst would be all we need.

Hardik can't be bowling with new ball in power play

Arshdeep. My team would be...

Abhishek

Jaiswal

Pant/Samson (wk) (if powers that be want Samson)

Tilak

Rinku

Parag

Pandya (c)

Axar

Arshdeep

Bumrah

Varun C

You've 3 pace options in Bumrah, Arshdeep and Bumrah which is enough for WT20 in India. And you've 5 spin options in Varun C, Axar, Parag, Abhishek and Rinku.

You bat till 9 and even Arshdeep can slog at 9. This team will allow you to play aggressively right through and barely any specialists like SKY.

Just a placeholder, Gill will be back, that too as captain for next few ICC events. Mark this post. BCCI doesn't care about results.

Gill will only be back if he scores well in CT.

Remember he got dropped in Australia for NKR.

Abhi unlike Jaiswal will employ a PR as well.

Bumrah is a better tailender than Arshdeep imo.

Was waiting for this fearless, non-stats padding mindset from an Indian batter after Sehwag and Pant.

Ability is there too.

My biggest happiness is that he can hit 145 k+ pacers with confidence and ease.

Abhishek has this boom or bust game, there will be instances where he will fail as well.

That's where our commentators are in general fans will have to keep faith. He is there for quick starts and not to score hundreds for stats.

Selfless players are the need of the hour.

Need to back him thoroughly. Failures will come and there he'd need all the backing

Can be our Head

He is one guy alongwith Jaiswal who should not be disturbed, their usp lies in their sanctity, here I mean there originality

Don't train them to be statpadding g@@ndu

like their predessers, infact Rohit also looked like million dollars after a long long time of "starting slowly and then accelerate "stupidity in the last two WCs

Besides being lefty, they have ability to score upfront

India will perhaps never have another Sehwag in near time if we continue pussyfyinh guys like Jaiswal,Abhishek and even Pantatunga

This was a proper t20i bowling line-up good to see Abhishek and Tilak able to hit 4/6 against some genuine pace.

Read some poster asking for Abhishek's inclusion in ct25, do not think that makes any sense right now, let him cement his place in T20is first.

No need to do what they did with SKY by bringing him in test and odis, Ind still can not give a ODI debut to jaiswal.

Abhishek's approach is to hit 4/6 every ball he faces and tries to make his own length, this may not be a successful approach in odis. And specially when captain and vice-captain are openers than it will be same situation where TM and captain would not know the role and position for Abhishek.

This was a Deepseek Nvidia kind of moment for Abhi vs kohli/rohot/rahul etc

Nvidia at least has a good product, so I would not compare it to Kohli, Rohit, who have no product left. They are more like those Nikola trucks. Only showbaazi, no engine!

Exactly. Each format should have its own team. No point in trying him in other formats unless he improves his FC or List A records.

I disagree and Dhoni has mentioned that India should have one captain. If Gill is the captain, then what sense does it make to have Abhi and Sanju open. Gambhir has mentioned that all-format players are crucial and so Gill and Jaiswal should open. They need a solid opening pair in SENA for all formats.

We need a 2nd frontline pacer. Harshit should replace Bishnoi.

In fact, both of them should replaced because Bumrah eventually comes in. So Arshdeep, Harshit and Bumrah instead of our spinners. Idea is to hunt in pairs and they can do it like the spinners are. They work for T20s but will fail in ODIs n Tests and so having one team across formats is crucial for players to represent India year round.

It's that batting depth until #8 that is allowing him to express himself with such confidence.

The moment Sundar was replaced with Dube, this batting lineup found its teeth.

And this happened even in South Africa.

Under Kohli, we kept playing 1 batter short and our LOI cricket suffered, most notably in 2021 when we had Jadeja batting at #6.

And again in the World T20 last year, we saw how having Jadeja was absolutely useless with the ball. An extra batter would have allowed that team to be even more dominant .
