jf1gp_1 Posted March 5, 2025 Posted March 5, 2025 Shami doesn't have any icc win. He lost ct17 then wc in 23, was injured for t20 wc. This is maybe his last shot. He isnt 100% fit that is clear but he will bowl on one leg if required to win this final.

His fielding could be a liability as well. He got wickets. But i still think they have rushed him too soon. We need him for Test series. In BGT with his presence we could have even won the series

vvvslaxman Posted March 9, 2025 Author Posted March 9, 2025 I am a big fan of Shami the ODI bowler. But it was embarrassing to see him with protruding belly. He physicially looked like a 50 year old bowler in legend league. We have an image about Shami. This guy is only a shadow of him. His selection almost cost us. Why didn't play Arshdeep?
crictime Posted March 9, 2025 Posted March 9, 2025 The injury in 30's which lead to surgery takes its toll, especially for a pace bowler.
vvvslaxman Posted October 4, 2025 Author Posted October 4, 2025 End of an era? What a champion bowler he was for us in 3 back to back world cups. Harshit Rana replaces him. What a step down. Sooda and Vk1 2

Once having a fast bowler who averaged below 25 in ODIs and below 30 in tests seemed like a dream. We got three - Shami, Bumrah and Siraj Vk1, cricspirit and tweaker 1 2

If we had another Shami he would have been already playing regularly for India Need to play all these at disposal more This guy Harshit needs to shed a lot of weight He's up and down in pace because of it A young Avesh also suffered from it then due to excess t20s and easy money didn't feel the need to work hard on fitness and lost his pace forever Edited October 5, 2025 by Suhaan cricspirit and express bowling 2

Akash is the closest . But he is nowhere close to Shami in LOIs.
Gollum Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 Happy that he was part of the CT winning team, deserved a WC but even a CT will do. Glad he wasn't part of NZ humiliation last year. Will bow out as the undefeated champion of home tests, fitting because he and Umesh were elite on SC tracks, no less than Steyn, Marshall, Akram. Vk1 1
singhvivek141 Posted October 6, 2025 Posted October 6, 2025 Satisfied with his test returns, but little bit dis-satisfied with his ODI returns. He could have achieved much more, had Kohli and Dhoni trusted him more in ODI's over Bhuvi. Despite such a good avg and SR, he played only 108 ODI's, could have easily played close to 170-180 ODI's and would have atleast crossed Srinath's tally of highest wkt in ODI by an Indian pacer. I still find it weird that Bhuvi has played more ODI's than Shami. Despite both making the debut in the series vs Pooks. rollingstoned, express bowling and Suhaan 3
