When the Burmese changed the name of their country to Myanmar, should Abbas-Mastan have also changed their surname to Myanmarwala? It is not about the name change of the place. Usual last names involved with places add a suffix of -wala or -vi , like Kanpurwala, Burmawala or Dehlvi or Barelvi. Or just a suffix of -I. Like Illahabadi or Hyderabadi. Frankly , Allahabadia sounds made up. Listen to it from the gadha’s mouth https://youtu.be/7FfVBqYFv4c?feature=shared Edited February 11 by coffee_rules Mariyam 1

But c'mon filing FIRs, giving death threats and the huge uproar and outrage against him or Samay is too much. Yeah it was a crass, idiotic, lame joke and should be seen as such nothing more. There are many imp issues that need similar outrage like corruption, rape, etc which get brushed under the carpet You know we could do multiple outrages at the same time. National outrages over rapes happens every few months in India, it's not swept under the carpet. It's other matter our Judiciary is useless at punishing rapists. * 'influencers' like these have made the word 'Sanskar'(ethics) into a dirty word for the youth. Hindu Sanskar teaches you to respect women. (Sure there are bastard rapist Hindu 'babas' like Asharam, but there are many more in other religions) On one hand they discredit a good thing like 'Sanskar'. At the same time they promote things like "I will give you 2 crore Rs to suck my dick"(to a random girl), promote incest(that too with your mom) and normalise using Maa-behen gaalis in every sentence. These are the people who started the embarrassing "Russian for 6000Rs" trend on India SM. They have put tharak into everything. (We all make dirty sex jokes among friends, but it should be kept private, not put on public SM where even a kid could watch it) This is a good opportunity to teach them a lesson. But I doubt much will happen.

Chakdephatte Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Indians are so reactionary. The reels of this show are going on since some time now. It is viral. People watch it. 20 million views on each video means something, they liked the show, it was always vulgar, it isn't the first time someone has said something deeply problematic there. There was this old age guy who always asks about contestant's mother. It isn't offensive, it is creepy. I was shocked how normalized it was. Never liked the show. But seriously, police complaint! I don't watch this show, I don't recommend it. If someone finds it funny, I will let them watch it. If a contestant got offended by some joke and complaints, I still understand, but why should you be offended by it? For sure, if I was there, I wouldn't them say a word about my parents, that's a different things. Criticism is okay but they stretched it too far. Not an issue worth national attention. And no, they don't need to be banned. Mariyam 1

It's not Ok to normalise such crass, tharki, incestuous( it was fine till BhabhiSex, but now they have graduated to MomSex lol) , overly abusive content in the name of dark comedy. Most of it isn't even remotely funny. They have no wit at all, just shock value. Normalising such content among the youth is what leads to toxic Maa-behen abuses, death-rape threats, cheap-stalking of girls in your average Indian SM comments section these days. Crackdown is necessary for the greater good of the Indian internet. Influencers need to learn where to draw the line. Doesn't matter if they are taught the hard way. Wait, what? Who has normalized the behavior of Ranvir? He has been panned universally, mainly online. People have stopped subscribing to his channel and some artistes/businesspeople have refused to come on his podcast. My post was more about the role of the police in this 'case'. The police have no business stepping in. None of the charges will stick. This is just harassment. Vickydev 1

When do we get serious about our cities' cleanliness and not worry about the hygeine of ppls comments on tv shows? IMO, doing something like this for our negligent collectors, contractors, engineers from the alphabet soup of govt departments would be much appreciated and hailed across the country.

The IPC has many archaic laws that anybody can file an FIR against anybody on flimsy grounds. The police can’t do much here. Even in case of any civic issues like builders flouting rules can be filed with the police. Police are like dogs , will only follow rules when they are told to. It is the state machinery- the CMs, MPs and MLAs raising this private event in the assembly or parliament and attacking just a section of private citizens, is what is over -action and waste of expenditure. If they raise this as a larger issue of vulgarity and indecency in all online platforms and OTT esp where gaali galoch happens so casually and is normalized, then it makes some sense. Regular People on insta reels are producing content so horrible, (like moms kissing sons etc) and are easily accessible to impressionable kids with just one swipe, is more worrisome. There are insta celebs now doing these acts just to get few clicks and generate easy money, will decay the society much worse than what some random comment made in a private event that got captured accidentally . The Latent Samay is what people seem to dislike. I haven't seen any of it, and really can't comment. Although at some level, the purpose of humour is to offend. @Mariyam I can't believe you out of all the people actually said this just because you found him "witty" in your interactions with him. Do we want to normalize sexual perversion in the name of "humor" ? All of his shows are grossly abusive, full of sexual innuendos, every other sentence he uses words like BC, MC. This idiot was invited as part of a group to KBC and he told AB that had you seen any of my shows you would have not invited me. I watched a few of his clips because youtube recommended and let alone the fact that you can't watch this filth with family, you cannot watch it without wearing earphones if people are around. If these kind of people are " successful" , it will inspire 1000s of others to open youtube channels with similar content....and all we will get in India's youtube ecosystem is third rate artists who peddle sexual perversion in the name of humor--- because we are allowing this kind of "comedy" .....this is like a cancer for the society. The govt should bring down the hammer on youtube India...and regulate such non-sense. Anything and everything cannot be kosher in the name of FOE..... AuxiliA Posted February 12 Posted February 12 (edited) Can't believe these talentless abusive ranters are considered as 'comedians' in India these days. I miss the old times when we had legendary shows like 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge' and 'Comedy Circus'. Those shows had so many genuinely talented standup comedians who could single handedly control the stage. And you could enjoy those shows with your parents, friends and partner alike. A chhomu like Samay Raina wouldn't have made it past the preliminary audition stage of such shows. Edited February 12 by AuxiliA raki05 1
