Nobody criticizes, "toota hai Gabba ka ghamand", infact it's one of the most iconic lines in cricket commentary.

 

These buggers don't realize, it's not about the language but about their shitty commentary level, if you listen to their Hindi commentary on radio, it would feel it's not a cricket match but rather some mushaira going on

Yeah exactly. I prefer Hindi commentary in hockey to any version of cricket/tennis commentary. Takeshi's Castle with Javed Jaafrey's Hindi voiceover made it 10x more fun. It is what the commentators bring, not the language.

That is Sunil Taneja, also does Punjabi commentary in IPL. Damn good command on his language

While our bowling is definitely much weaker this time One way in which this current Indian team is better is the batting depth. Even the WC23 team was heavily reliant on the big top order players. What helped us win the T20 WC was the presence of three all rounders in Panchami, Jadeja and Axar. This is a bigger factor in ODIs and gives more comfort in bowling options as well as eases the pressure on the top order. Gill can play more freely.

They should introduce commentary certificate courses and allow agencies to hire good commentators

Doesn't matter if they aren't ex or current cricketers as most of them are chewts

I think there is a limit to what one can analyse stuff in Hindi.

English will always be more technical language when it comes to analysis in Cricket.

Hindi/Urdu gets stale after a while.

 

Punjabi Bhojpuri can offer comedy content at least.

Yeah the team looks a bit more balanced now. That 2023 team had pathetic balance with 5 batters 5 bowlers and useless SKY. 

 

Pandya's injury wrecked us badly there.

CWG no hockey this time I guess, very few sports were there last I checked. They are winding down the competition, in fact 2026 might be the last CWG edition.

 

This year we have Asia Cup though, in August in Rajgir, Bihar (also hosted women's ACT last year). Win Asia Cup and get direct qualification to next year's WC.

asia cup/asian games are nice (smashing pak always fun) but we know that like cricket this is low level.

 

cwg australia is a good team and wanted to see how we would go against them post defeating them in the olympics.
