No one is saying become a 6ft ripped muscular guy BUT please atleast lose the belly flab fgs! Why is the whole cricketing fraternity defending this sort of mentality which can be separated from his captaincy/batting skill? Now politics has been brought in so many on this forum criticizing sharma's fitness are suddenly supporting him and turning against the person who questioned him. This is exactly how a cult works, they have been given marching orders and their own thoughts and view points now don't count and they will start parroting party lines. This is why this country will never achieve true heights, there is no original thinking just blind worship of parties and leaders. Lord 1

He is not India's captain. He is captain of a private cricket team owned by a private body BCCI who gets the national team tag and all sort of undeserving tax benefits while choosing to protect its corporate mafia interest at the cost of merit and credibility. Had that not been the case, a 3-0 whitewash by a New Zealand team and a complete surrender in BGT would have seen his and few others permanent exclusion from the international game.

Agree, it’s a travesty that he’s still the captain after losing 0-3 at home to a NZ team and lust miserably in BGT. Sachin lost his captaincy after losing 0-2 against SA in at home 2000 and 0-3 in Aus. Hate the media PR teams. Edited March 4 by coffee_rules New guy 1

However, I think Sunny G having played cricket as a lead batsman for 50 years would be in a better position to gauge requirements of a batsman from a physicality stand point, than a political spokesperson who probably never held a bat in her life. Not for the modern game... Sunny G retired close to 40 years back. Game has moved on a lot.

Rohit is objectively not fit. Particularly in modern era as fitness keeps improving in all team.

wanted_desi Posted March 4 Posted March 4 If Sunil Gavaskar is calling out people for commenting on Rohit Sharma’s physique, he should also do the same when people talk about Virat Kohli’s fitness. It should go both ways—if criticizing someone's body shape is wrong, it should be wrong in all cases.
