Kuldeep, for some odd reasons, looks short of confidence.

 

He has been playing ODI for 6-7 games in row since his injury. But lets keep him for the final purely because he can make impact vs NZ/SA.

I think he's doing a reasonable job as part of a 4 spinner attack. People are overreacting as they expect him to run through a side in every spell in these conditions. Zampa had a worse economy rate than him yesterday. He poses a different challenge to others and keeps the batsmen adapting.The results show that the overall approach works in Dubai,

Did well. Can't get why people wanted Sundar to replace him. He had few bad matches but Sundar is no good for LOIs.

I'm a big believer in Sundar's potential, but have to admit he has plateaued a bit. 

 

They are different players. Kuldeep is a wicket-taking spin bowling option, Sundar is an allround option for me, more of a batting allrounder like Pandu. But he hasn't fulfilled the potential of his skillset and ability yet.

Kuldeep is more skilled than Washington Sundar imo purely as a spinner. Have to say that Fielding and batting ability wise, Sundar is easily the better player. With KL (wk- bat), Axar, Jadeja and Hardik as multi-skilled players, we certainly are not short of all-rounders. Specialist bowler is the optimal way to go if we are playing so many mukti skilled players in 11.

He is okay for Tests. In LOIs, there are replacements.

He did OK today.  But NZ spinners like Bracewell and Santner looked far more threatening.  And those NZ spinners can contribute heavily with the bat as well.  They are proper ARs (unlike Kuldeep who is garbage with bat).  Thats something Kuldeep needs to work on.
