WC2011INDIA Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Oldies need to retire. I mean I get it winning a 50 over wc for them would be personal achievement, but I think they have served enough. Time to let others shine.
Frustrated Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Don't see RoKo retiring anytime before the WC2027. Our future is doomed. But for now let's enjoy the 2 ICC titles we earned in last 9 months.
The Hound Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Why should Rohit & kohli retire after having such a stellar tournament. Rohit only got 50 over WC missing from his resume he'll surely like another shot at that in 2027.

Gollum Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Jaiswal ka koi future hai? Frustrated, Norman and rollingstoned 3

When Sharath kamal age 42can play table tennis at highest level which is totally depends on reflexes so why can’t he
Gollum Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Just now, VT87 said: When Sharath kamal age 42can play table tennis at highest level which is totally depends on reflexes so why can’t he Because Sharath at age 42 was better than Indian youngsters, that is the difference in individual sports. If another person overtakes you in ranking he gets ahead of you, and everyone has equal opportunities to enter tournaments. Nobody can block a position, not even a GOAT like Djokovic. Here Jaiswal isn't even getting a chance to break through into the squad. VT87, Sgattick10, New guy and 1 other 2 2
Gollum Posted March 9 Posted March 9 At least let 3 openers rotate from match to match or series to series and get equal number of chances in ODIs. Whichever two have the best stats play the next WC. Say even if Jaiswal isn't good enough to displace Rohit/Gill, he will get enough experience and can fill in last minute in case injury or sudden loss of form strikes (likely if you are carrying a 40 year old with big belly). In 2019 WC, Dhawan got injured and Rahul played as opener without much experience.
Gollum Posted March 9 Posted March 9 Sreejesh is a year younger than Rohit, was in the form of his life last year. Who can forget his keeping in the QF when India were one man short for most of the game, he kept Brits at bay whole game and then won us the shootout. Even he took retirement after Paris bronze because he wanted Pathak to get more game time before 26 WC. That is what a selfless legend does. And man was he fit, his yo-yo score at the age of 35 was higher than that of any cricketer (even from SENA).
The Hound Posted March 9 Posted March 9 (edited) Not just cricket , I don't remember any sportsman retiring on his absolute peak in recent time. The only one that comes to mind is Khabib in UFC but even he had personal reasons not sporting reasons for it (death of his father/coach). Edited March 9 by The Hound New guy 1
Sooda Posted March 9 Posted March 9 For me Virat and Rohit should retire from all cricket Jadeja and Shami from LOIs
New guy Posted March 9 Posted March 9 For rohit I want him to break Afridi's 6 record in ODIs. He has another 8 sixes to go (and has played 104 less innings than Afridi).
