Nope this is the reason tourism industry is on a ventilator. Crime happens in other areas of the world as well but India's name has been tarnished as if we are Afghanistan for women and kids.

How do you quantify the effect of SM hate on Indians hurting the tourism industry? Say, I plan a visit to a Costa Rica, I don’t search for SM reactions on crimes in Costa Rica or comments of news websites. At the least, I do a TripAdvisor reviews on the specific sites I want to visit. I still don’t feel this SM localized hate of Indians hurts Indian tourism industry at a macro level. Our tourism industry is on decline because of rising costs of hotels, taxis/teansport and affordability. Srilanka or Thai is attractive for others and even for Indians because of costs. Except a tiny minority, most of our sub-alt's, except as a emotional mob or revenge, are reluctant for random violence. Eons of tropical abundance has toned down the violence in Hindu society. As @Muloghonto says, see the stats before making conclusions.
