We owe massively to Dinesh Karthik. This guy started playing cricket because he was inspired by DK. He was the one who got him into KKR.

Let me put it this way . He should be only in short format. T20 best format & then 50 overs. If he plays till WC 2027 he had a very good career .

He has great control over his stock ball which googly , bowls leg spin ( most difficult to pick variations among indian spinners),has the best faster ball and a very good yorker length ball , bowls with drift ( watch Phillips delivery in final)and imparts overspin making ball to bounce more than normal resulting in mishits. What more he can add ?

He is not able to take the ball away from right hander significantly. It is only a slight turn. There is  a chance they could treat him like Kumble down the line. Okay he is not bishnoi level one-dimensional. But they can try targeting him through midwicket area treating him like an inswing bowler.

Of course he will get hit at times . May loose form & fitness also by 27 who knows? . Even over exposure could be another issue.  But if you see some of the dismissals , quite a few have perished trying to hit his back of length ball  towards mid wicket including a monster like Klassen , livingstone , brook due to overspin and ball gaining more height . 

Re: away going delivery, do not think that is big worry as his googly comes a long way in. A slight deviation going away ball or a straighter one is good enough in his case to get LBW, bowled , outside edge. 

But what he should to further improve . Any ideas ? Definitely he cannot bowl big  leg break rippers.  That means real messup of his bowling action at this late stage of his career.

This above interview is a superb interview as well. Must watch. I didn't know he was originally picked as opening batsman. HE wants to bat. But he is disappointed that KKR is using him only as a substitue. Seems like he learnt variations from youtube videos of Rashid khan, kumble lol.  Apparently he had about 18 variations. THen he whittled down to less.

Here is your answer @prudent_kreeda..he has more variations up his sleeve :D.. probably he can play for 100 years..with 18 variations :D
