BCCI should send under 19s team to Bangladesh LOL

We need to win the series even though it is low profile. So sending the U1-9 team is not the optimal option. B Team 11 + couple of players from C team and U-19  to make a squad of 15 should be fine imo.

As long as he is playing International cricket I don't mind him skipping pointless IPL games.

He should use this time to do some strength and conditioning & try to build some muscle mass work on his core.

He won't be able to get into intl team if he doesn't play domestic cricket or IPL.

Player like Mayank is well past Domestic or IPL numbers...  If he is fit he will slot right back in.  He may not play much FC cricket until 25 years of age.

No one in India can do what he can.

Well he'll still need to prove he can do what he did a year ago (last year's IPL). When he played for India his pace was down to late 130s to 140, and he looked like a different bowler. Mayank's USP is 150+ pace and without it he wouldn't be a shoo-in. Bumrah and Arshdeep are the starters in T20Is with Harshit as the 3rd pace specialist along with Pandya as the all-rounder.

The only way Mayank gets in is if he bowls at 150+. I would love to see Mayank being treated in Eng or Aus as I've no confidence in NCA and their rehabilitation center. I don't recall anyone improving after a long stint at NCA. BCCI should've sent Mayank to work with a specialist last year itself instead of to NCA, and better to do it now than hoping NCA will do anything of note.

Mayank was bowling 145+ pace and around 148-149ks top speed with ridiculous accuracy and bounce and was virtually unhittable by Bangla batters.

I think he was not 100% in those 3 games but was still a notch above our every young pacer.

He will only get better & it is a scary proposition what he can do while being Fully fit and  ready to go.

for T20is IPL is good enough, for anything else they need to be tested and groomed in domestic circuit.

Just do not put them in odis and tests on the performance of IPLs, there should be a role and position for the player in those format.

Like they picked sky in odis and tests, what was his role, what was his position. He is not a power hitter that they thought of hisng him at lower order, he hardly hits anything down the ground or in cw-corner tobe effective in lower down the order.

Gave Patidar chance in tests in place of t20is

Was hearing that they are thinking of dropping down abhishek to lower middle order to make way for gill in the t20is again abhishek is not power hitter he is one who uses pp and maximizes it

But what exactly his mysterious injury is ???

1st they brought him back after 2/3 matches in IPL and then he had to go to nca there he was treated think he retured after 6 months (may be more donot know the time lines here) and again got injured and now is out since then.

realistically would say at this point ppl are just having fake high hopes that he will return same 150+ kmph bowler, he is going same way as other have in the past.

We dont need typical consolidator if we are trying for 250+ in T20s.. Gill doesnt fit the bill(pun intended)..Let him play Tests and ODIs..and not mess up his Test game even further due to T20s..

The only format where gill has good stats is odis, do not think he is cut out for modern day t20s, for tests his technique is dodgy not just for sena but spinning ind tracks too.

They already made him vc, there were few videos after the ct final where kl was mimicking like he is crowing gill( not sure others noticed it)

And the was a program where akash chopra and presenter were talking about gill to a length.

And the simon doul interview with gill and kolhi and gill getting that "new" bat sponsor deal  (ashwin hinted towards this)

Ya he is the next face for BCCI to get money so there is every chance they would try to fit him in T20s too..

unless there is a crowdfunding for running a massive PR and SM campaigns against his inclusion haha

I guess BCCI anways sends B team in low profike series.

No more a question of profile. BD is a rogue state and Indian players will have legit security threats, in that sense BD is at par with Pakistan right now.

Jaiswal, Abhishek are more popular faces than him.

Abhishek, can be potentially.

But he isn't as well known as Gill currently is at the moment. One format players, public can easily forget about them if they don't be on top of their game.

Social Media these days play a key role in the popularity and having a good face surely helps in pulling the young crowd who are just casual fans.

Jaiswal don't have that aura right now if you consider "popularity" of that metrics.

Na bhai.

No pyar, mohabbat, bhaichara.

Time to "thrash" them at every department. KL, Kohli, Rohit, Pant, Iyer...all should bash them into the solar system.

That is the million dollar question.

It started with an abdomen strain and is now a back stress whatever.... so nobody really knows what the injury is.

They should have not messed with the action - just treated the abdomen strain. With the changed action and run up, it seems the entire body is breaking down.

Indian cricket is so big that it can make stars of anyone. We don't have a dearth of potential stars and we can have multiple players who can be stars. Abhishek and Jaiswal are the prominent ones but Tilak can be one along with Riyan Parag or Rinku.

At the end of the day performances matter and players who do the hard yards and win tourneys can easily become the face of Indian cricket. In fact there should be multiple stars per format.
