Will Mayank Yadav Play the matches that are in MAY 2025 ??? will he be fit for them?

Touch and go it seems. The goal has to be for him to play say the last 2-3 games in the league stage and hope LSG gets into playoffs so we can see him in knockouts. This has to be the most optimistic scenario for Mayank.

With Zak in the setup...I am hopeful that he may work with Mayank to get him match ready soon. Considering Zak learned about fitness to prolong his career.

Only worry is, hope he doesn't transform Mayank into a line length bowler. Ishant tried to emulate Zak and wasted years being an utter mediocrity.

Zaheer was skillful but never had work ethics, not sure if he is the right person to be coaching a 145+kmph bowler.

Dropped his pace has soon as he was certain in the team, was never fit not talking about injuries. Can not assess if he was match fit or not even after playing years of Intnl. cricket.

Even with MI they had to bring bond as bowling coach/consultant (if I can recall correctly)

Look like he won't feature this IPL. If his own franchise (LSG) isn't keen, don't see him playing.

I think they are probably trying to play safe to get one more player in the squad

They have to declare that certain player is out and they will have some1 else in the squad.

Do not think they can have replacement and mayank together. Shradul amd mavi are already in their camp

Shardul is going to county, last I heard.

Is it not the case anymore.

Shardul should be picked for Eng Tests. We missed him in Aus and would've provided a lot of value than some of the specialist batters.

Any chance he can be unleashed against POMS in one of the tests?

no, he is not able to get through 4 overs would tm risk of playing a test with 10 players???

lets not think too much a head of time let him come back play t20 see the progress and pace there see if he can play 3-4 games at top fitness and pace

He can barely last a couple of T20s without getting injured. Playing him in Tests is a pipe dream at the moment. He has to play FC matches and perform there for him to be picked in longer formats. At the moment he's purely a T20 bowler. Let him deliver there and progress to ODIs before thinking of Tests.

To be fair, he didn't seem in shape when BGT 2024 started. But he turned it on in domestics early this year and deserves a call-up to bowl in conditions that suit his style. He could also mentor NKR.

We need to fill our team with all-rounders to cover for Rohit and Kohli.

I was assuming they will then remove mayank from the squad..if not..then the request righfully denied..

Goenka was an idiot to retain injury prone players at such high cost. Mayank and Mohsin are unlikely to last the whole season. Should have been sensible enough to buy Kamboj, Prasidh or some other reasonably fit youngster

Can't blame Goenka. Mayank's ceiling was pretty high and his skill set is extremely rare in Indian Cricket. Any team would pay a premium to pick an out and out Indian fast bowler who can consistently bowl at mid 150s. You don't want to be that guy who lets a player like Mayank go and then see him succeed for another IPL team.

I'm sorry but Kamboj, Prasidh or any other pacer doesn't have the same kind of potential which Mayank does. Mohsin is another player who got unlucky with his arm injury. If he can fully recover from the injury and regain his arm strength, he can easily play for India in shorter formats.
