Insane funding and reach of missionaries in these areas. Most of these converts are poor crypto christians who do it only for a bit of money or minor benefits. They don't really follow christianity. They can be brought back relatively easily compared to Islamic converts. A lot of Tribals have been converted back by RSS and Hindu groups in BJP states where they get backing and protection. Work is on now in Chhattisgarh and Orissa. FCRA licences of dozens of 'missionary' NGOs given during the UPA era have been cancelled. One of the aims of providing basic foodgrains to 80cr poor is to stop conversions for 'ricebags'. We need a strong central law making it compulsory to be a 'proper' Hindu to avail caste based reservations and benefits.

To work in Bengaluru or Mysuru, one has to know basic Kannada. Hindi/Telugu in Hyderabad. Most Tamilians I know know or speak Hindi.
