Its a customary agreement pcb and nzc has that they will have a series during IPL.

NZ has been wise using those series and tours to build up bench, Its similar to how Ind was playing SL during the time of sanga and Mahela to give chances to new players.

It helped kolhi and Rohit's career. SL was was a good team but yet beatable so if some1 was good against them it was deemed that they are good in general.

Pak plays full strength side in bi-laterals too so nz tested their bench and god some player like chapman, think orourke also played some matches vs pak in the initial stages

Not denying that but surprised that the series was organized barely days after CT wrapped up. I can understand scheduling a few weeks after the CT is over or during IPL. But doing so barely a few days after CT reeks of PCB knowing what was gonna happen and looks like they planned it to divert attention from CT failure.

Ind board was doing it on-purpose to divert the attention and still keep audiences intrsted in Ind cricket by selecting some new player which ppl wanted to watch.

But the nz and pak series nothing odd, check the history of the series. While IPL was on nz and pak team is having this series for sometime now.

Pcb does not want to feel left-out while IPL was on so they came up with series like this during IPL. Not many teams are available during ipl. think only zim is fully available during that time, pcb came up with this series with nz so they have something for their audiences during ipl and not be seen as leftout.

NZ play their b/c/d teams and try out some of their high potential player against a full strength pak team

PCB took the page from BCCI's playbook from our previous ICC knockout failures. I remember we used to hurriedly organize a series with WI or SL after losing a knockout game. The difference was we used to lose in knockouts, whereas Pak get humiliated in group stages :giggle:

and that we usually used to win those WI/SL series

A team that has  Ayush Badoni, Ramandeep Singh, Rajat Patidar,   Sindhu,  PRabhsimran singh etc.. can easily beat this pakistan team eyes closed.

Ind should send them in asa-cup, think this could be competitive side too. Send a b/c team. Thnk they can take on full strength pak team as well.

Give that team some 4/5 matches to figure the combination and then play them in asa-cup.

Wondering why Will Young, Rachin Ravindran, Kane Williamson, Tom Latham, Mitchell Santner and Glenn Phillips awho played in CT finals did not  play in the first match yesterday. Devon Conway was also in squad for CT. Probably they are not even in the squad as they are possibly on way to India for IPL?

Matt Henry was injured and missed CT  finals too. Perhaps he has still not recovered.

there are multiple reasons, yes ipl is one of them, nz played finals those player would have wanted to rest a bit, there in no icc event coming up so no need to play full strength side, pak came with their 2nd string side think this nz side is still better than pak side in their conditions.

Nz has been working to create their own bench fr a long time time now , most of the player in nz side hav been in intnl circuit for sometime now

I thought players who're in IPL won't feature in the series. So this rules out majority of top NZ players who're selected in IPL.

this idiot has no motion sense. He had seal like layer on him and he rather hit wickets:facepalm:

If u watch it on slow motion, u would find that fatso wasn't trying to hit the ball. He was rather trying to eat it live, probably visualising it as Mac Aloo Tiki Burger.
