Glad you brought that up. Had such a lobby been in China they would have faced the firing squad by now. They have been a massive roadblock in the way of creating a local defence industry.

They seem more like mouthpieces of BBC/Aljazeera than former Indian army officers. They were against A370 removal and instead advocated removal of AFSPA from NE citing human rights abuses by IA!

These b*stards even openly 'celebrated' the accidental death of former CDS Bipin Rawat who was instrumental in dismantling their lobby.

These guys are sadly way too influential and hold considerably sway in MoD and PMO office.

Only recently Baba Kalyani brought this issue back into limelight..  they are legit exporting their stuff to far more advanced militaries while Jernails are only rejecting desi maal while happily importing foreign maal for cut, commissions.

I don't understand - their stadium needed to be updated regardless which they did to host international matches. Nothing to do with CT here ... and if this was to do with CT, why fight tooth and nail to host it if you could not afford it?

The same venue will host the matches when X Y Z team will visit, so why is the cost being applied to CT? That's an investment any board needs to do regardless of CT or not to keep their stadium upto date to host international matches.

Because the money was given by ICC from their funds to renovate the stadiums for CT.

Upkeep, maintenance, upgrade and build new stadiums is up to the board. Icc has no role or say into it.

Boards can use their own mny to do that in which ever time-period they like.

When an icc event is allotted to a board an icc event team visits the list of stadiums that the board is hoping to have games on.

Icc team can reject it, ask for upgrades or accepts it as it. There are other ppl too from broadcasting and logistics who have a say in this. Like if there are proper hotels and commute available etc.

Based up-on recommendation icc fnanc team work with boards fnanc team to work out the budget, not 100% sure but read some where ca got less mny for wc than what pcb got for ct.

Here pcb waited till the icc -event hoping to get some money for upgrades, icc event team asked for not big updates just new big-screen, chairs in crowd sitting area, few updates/upgrades in pavilion, media and guests areas thats it.

Pcb some how convinced the icc event team for an entire facelift to all 3 stadiums and they gave the go ahead.

The costing is not applied to the event but the report made it look that way.

Yes there is some sort of crption and somehow pcb dried up it acnts, do not think they were not aware of this.

pcb wanted to show it to bcci/ind that they can throw a huge party and went overboard with it and didnt achieve anything. They fell flat.

opening ceremony was nothing much to shout-out about, stadiums were not that grand (they more or less looks the same).

all it suggests is huge crptn, think media out-let didnt want to say it directly or it is just lose reporting

You'd think 3 stadiums' development would have an amortization schedule, right? Basic accounting principles

Yeah it looks like the journalist and commentators dont really understand the basics of how these things are analysed. The $6m was the guaranteed hosting fees so can be seen as income. The money spent on the stadium upgrade would be a capital expenditure and not an outlay you use to offset against income  in a single period. So calculating a "loss" to include this figure doesn't really make any logical sense.

You mean capital expenditure is offset not just by one one event the CT but potential subsequent events as well over a period say 3 of 5 years.

Pakistanis are good in obfuscating and begging. They think this this would be bargaining chip when they beg later basically.

I doubt PCB pays any taxes, so all of this is useless noise anyway!

Next T20 WC is co hosted by India and SL anyways

Pak will play all their games in Colombo.

I am certain BCCI will make sure final is in India.

Would be interesting to see if India and Pak are in same group

Nope as per agreement Pak will play their matches in SL for next WT20.

Final ka pata nahi .. most likely India mai hi hoga.

Asia Cup was supposed to be hosted by India... Already moved to boring UAE again.

These loudmouth PCB advisors are hilariously delusional. Someone needs to yank him out of his wet dreams and hand him a reality check: Pakistan contributes zero, zilch, nada to BCCI’s revenue.

And if he’s done playing expert, maybe remind him—when the ICC bleeds, it's the PCB that gets the smaller slice of the (BCCI) charity pie. Which will naturally leave these insatiable PCB leeches scrambling for scraps to fund their next indulgence. But then, self-mutilation to spite India is practically a national pastime over there.

How deluded are these folks in PCB! How did they even get these kind of jobs/roles. Someone needs to tell these jaahils the success of IPL when they said the same when Pak players were not picked, and we've all seen how that turned out

Agreement imo does not matter. If India is hosting and they have to host final away from India then they will host whole tournament away from India.

They will make their money anyway so they would not care about venue.
