Of all the bowlers selected in A team they went the tried and tested route ans selected medium pacers.

They could have taken risk for the A games.

With this current A tour it being designed to support the senior team in England, trying out the likes of Tyagi or Imran when they've played no FC in ages is too much of a gamble. They need the nous of being able to bowl over after over over a day which the more experienced Ranji bowlers will have even with their lack of pace

These kind of A tours servers no purposes, neither they are developing a good set of upcoming player nor it gives any idea which player is in form or not.

If a regular players does not perform in these matches will they be dropped from test side for that tour  .....???

These are just warm-up matches and gives the time for star player to join later per their convenience

Tbh I think the break up of IPL hasn't helped in this regard. Otherwise the point would be to get test players attuned to English conditions. Ideally Sai and Gill maybe even others would be playing

Its more an Admin decision on how they see these A tours to be.

Imo a team should arrive as a team and return as a team. There were some liberties given to player which have have used/misused.

At some point the ability to bowl a few fast deliveries has to translate into the skill to take wickets as these bowlers progress through levels. None of these guys have shown any such skill. Ultimately it is wickets that is a bowlers currency. Just hurling the ball really fast gives you a Shoaib AKhtar type character at best. Made a lot of noise but played only a few tests, was mostly injured and didn't help his team win anything.

Would take a few bowlers with a Shoaib Akhtar type of career.

Had fitness issues but produced some special performances.

Well..... Do I even need to reply to this? :) You hit your leg at the axe, the moment you took Shoaib Akhtar's name :) Nuff said!

Mohammad Sami would be a more appropriate example. Akhtar was a much better bowler and I wouldn't mind having him in the squad.

Karthik has played 2 matches and should play more matches.

Unadkat singlehandedly ruined SRHs chances yesterday or in other words he bowled very very poorly in a low scoring match, not the first time and neither will be the last time he has bowled match loosing spells still he's picked regularly

Test cricket is no longer prioritised as it was during Akhtar's playing days.

Apart from Test series against ENG and AUS, we are playing only 2 Tests per series against the rest. And that's true for all Test nations nowadays.

Apart from freaks like Bumrah , it's difficult to develop multi-format fast bowlers and even batsmen for that matter.

It's part of the reason why some of these guys haven't progressed and why even other teams like Australia are struggling to produce fast bowlers like they used to.
