I feel bad for Tripathi. The guy has only played 5 matches this season, isn't a star, and has contributed pretty well for his teams till this season. It's likes of Jadeja batting at 4, Gaikwad, Dube, and Dhoni who should be called out. They're the so called stars and the "foundation" of this team. Throwing Tripathi and Hooda under the bus is uncalled for and they don't deserve all the ridicule when someone like Jadeja hasn't done anything with the bat for 15+ years in the IPL.

CSK need to dismantle dads army for next season.

Dhoni, Ashwin, Jadeja, Hooda, Tripathi, Conway, Shankar -- All need to be booted out. Pathirana has also been found out.

Mhatre, Gaikwad, Rachin, Curran, Brevis and Dube can be backed. Noor & Kamboj to continue as well.

They pushed their luck with so many retired players. I am glad they were roundly thrashed.

First thing they need to kick out is the "Process is more important than results" mentality. That can only go if both Dhoni and Fleming (who seems to have learned this from the legend of process) are both shown the door.

It's not just the wooden spoon, but CSK have roundly looked like a completely hopeless team all through the tournament. They do not look like anywhere close to the league of the other teams. They need a complete revamp of the team and the mindset. Unless they root out all those problems, they could continue seeing diminishing returns.

India did not have little leagues before. In the last 2 years or so SMAT and other T20 leagues have gone to different level. CSK thought they could bully squad with noobs like they used to do before.  They got roundly slapped by youngsters. To expose further it is their youngsters that delivered tbe punch in this edition. With more talents emerging in India, CSK's tried and tested formula of backing experienced players is not working anymore.  Ruturaj's injury exposed it even further as he was the only one scoring runs.

In a way, for Ruturaj's sake, it was good that he got injured, otherwise, he would have been roundly blamed for this disaster. CSK public got to see that Dhoni as captain also couldn't salvage the situation. But, still the blind worship for Dhoni continues.

Dhoni showed zero interest on the field. Usually he would literally fry players with his eyes when they err in line and length. This time he didn't care much.
