rangeelaraja Posted March 30 Posted March 30 (edited) When we create an ecosystem where verbal sewage is packaged as “humor,” and then defend it with limp excuses like “it’s just dark comedy,” “don’t like it, don’t watch,” or “there’s a paywall,” we’re not being edgy — we’re normalizing decay. We’re signaling to the next wave of wannabe provocateurs that the fastest route to fame and fortune is paved with vulgarity, insult, and outrage-for-profit. No one represents this decay better than Samay Raina — who’s managed to turn third-rate abuse into a full-time career. He’s not a comedian. He’s a symptom — of what happens when we start celebrating vulgarity as wit and abuse as art. Unless we bring in real consequences — and we start deplatforming these professional provocateurs who monetize abuse while pretending it’s art — we’re accelerating our own cultural collapse. This is exactly how societies corrode: when tastelessness is mistaken for boldness, and verbal sewage is not just tolerated — but applauded. Below is the kind of trash Samay Raina helped normalize in the name of comedy, because per him "shock and awe " language is profitable. Without the crutch of abusive “jokes,” Samay Raina would be cracking stale one-liners to bored customers at a mobile recharge shop. Edited March 30 by rangeelaraja AuxiliA and Vicks57 2
AuxiliA Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Sex jokes are fine but why do they have to involve Parents and family in it. Even the westerners (who these idiots blindly copy) don't do that. Hope this blows up like the Ranveer A one and she faces relentless online abuses and have FIRs filed against her. That's the only language they understand. rangeelaraja 1
AuxiliA Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Also the way this idiot speaks wasn't even remotely funny. It's utterly cringe. Good comedy has wit, sarcasm and timing, it's not an easy job. These genZ SoBo idiots think that being sl*tty, cracking lesbian jokes on your Mom is funny and progressive. We need a joint collaboration between Shiv Sena (Shinde one) and the new Taliban to deal with this menace. rangeelaraja 1
EnterTheVoid Posted March 30 Posted March 30 (edited) This whole moral policing is really nauseating. It's really weak to go after comedians and blame tham for all that is wrong with society. Who is the arbitrator of what is funny and what isn't? You create a gazillion threads on Pakistan - Your obsession is a "low point" in ICF cricket talk forum. Samay Raina's show provided a platform to showcase one's talent. The average Joe would never make to the Bollywood type shows, where they are just Bollywood folk looking after other Bollywood folk. I don't think you actually ever watched an episode of Samay's show. And it shows. Your "outrage" is hollow. Edited March 30 by EnterTheVoid Lord, Vancouver and Lone Wolf 3

That's the only language they understand. What truly disturbs me is this: her parents will see this. Her relatives will see it. Hundreds, if not thousands, within their extended network will see it. And if she gains even a shred of limelight or success from this, it sends a dangerous message — that degradation, if marketed well enough, is a shortcut to fame and easy money. How much lower do we plan to sink as a society? Even in the West — the same culture these so-called comedians blindly try to mimic — this kind of content is not part of the mainstream. It remains niche, fringe, and is often called out. But here, we’re actively normalizing it under the banner of “freedom” or “edgy humor.” This isn’t edgy — it’s repulsive. And yes, it needs to be punished. Ruthlessly. Not just because it’s offensive, but because without real consequences, this sets a precedent — a playbook for the next wave of attention-hungry trash peddlers. I’ve despised Samay Raina for exactly this reason — he helped open the floodgates. He proved that you can weaponize vulgarity, wrap it in fake irony, and get rewarded for it. And now we’re watching the fallout in real time. AuxiliA 1

If that’s your benchmark, enjoy watching it with your family. And no, I don’t need to watch hours of Samay Raina’s garbage to know what it is — a platform that rewards filth, not wit. If this is your idea of elevating the “average Joe,” then congratulations — you’ve set the bar in the gutter.

Who the hell is 'blaming them for all that is wrong with society' lol. Don't deflect blame with this whataboutery trope. The way I see it, everyone has FoE. It's FoE of these wannabe 'comedians' to joke about having sex with their parents. But so is the public backlash/trolling that come their way after this. Everything is fair game until it involves violence.
goose Posted March 30 Posted March 30 its supposed to be humor, if its not funny people wont laugh and she'll disappear. why do you want to intervene? Lord 1

That’s laughable. In today’s reality, failed stand-up filled with foul language, sexual vulgarity, and incest jokes doesn’t disappear — it goes viral. Because abuse sells. Shock gets clicks. Outrage drives views. And that’s exactly how these so-called comedians get fame, followers, and brand deals. That’s how these performers get "fame" — not through talent, but through algorithm-fueled outrage. And if we stay silent, we’re just letting vulgarity set the bar for what passes as comedy.

Probably saw some out of context side bite and are outraging over the collapse of the Indian culture. You are a real comedian. Have you considered a future in stand up comedy?

That’s rich coming from someone whose idea of comedy is watching foul-mouthed nobodies crack incest jokes for cheap applause. You don’t need to watch an entire garbage dump to know it stinks — a whiff is enough. I have a functioning brain and a working sense of decency, both of which you clearly outsourced to your favorite "comedian" And thanks for the suggestion — but unlike you, I don’t aspire to clap for degenerates in dark rooms and call it culture. You’re not defending humor, you’re defending intellectual rot because you’ve confused garbage with brilliance for so long, you genuinely can’t tell the difference anymore. If that’s what entertains you, then maybe the real joke… is you.

I’ve long been a strong supporter of genuine stand-up talent — performers like Atul Khatri, Gaurav Kapoor, and others who deliver real content with wit, timing, and intelligence. Not talentless hacks who dress up filth as humor and use “stand-up” as a shield for what’s essentially public indecency with a spotlight.

Find any lame excuse to cut him down and make an example out of him. That's true, but only a small part of it. Using this logic no one should be criticizing any successful Celeb ever. The disproportionate backlash that Ranveer/Samay received was mostly coz of the pent up anger that Hindus had over the 'comedian' jamaat's one-sided jokes on Hindu religion and culture. That parent-gate was just the trigger. Personally I thought it to be unfair towards Ranveer/Samay but message needed to be sent for the 'comedian' jamaat to understand their limits. EnterTheVoid 1
Gollum Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Indians rarely produce world class quality in any area really. Why should entertainment, comedy be any different? Our creative output is zero, also zero effort. Pretty sure even these lame jokes are word to word copies from some foreign show.
