Even Bhuvi hit 145 in T20 once. he has played a grand total of 12 IPL games in 3 yrs. Not one single standout performances. Played 5 in the last 2 yrs. Was injured in the middle of the game iirc once and then dropped for fitness. Same in international debut. Which means he is over trying for pace and not natural. sticking out with consistent pace would be someone like Mayank.Umran or Umesh/Aaron in their prime. Sen clocked 149 in 2022, his breakout season. Clocked 150 in 2023 Bowled 140-148 consistently in the last season..in the previous years IPL forum you can see the posts from the posters who are involved in tracking fast bowlers. What’s the point ? Mayank when he bowled 150, rattled the batsmen. Umesh bowled a 150 delivery to AB I think which made the world take attention. Umran had a fiery 5 wicket haul in one of the games where he bowled express. Archer goes for a lot of runs but he still rattles batsmen in between. as I said if he bowled a few deliveries of 150 it wasn’t that appealing. Batsmen played him easily and clearly he couldn’t keep up with the intensity. I don’t think he will be quicker and fitter at 28 which he couldn’t do at 25. Max you will see a 140-145 bowler with better fitness, discipline and some extra skills. That’s the max upside. Not India material based on what has been seen.

Names like Archer, Mayank, Wood, Umran are express category...rare to find. There are only handful of such bowlers in international cricket. Sen belongs to 140-145 range where he has competition. Prasidh, Harshit, Simarjeet all are competing in the same pace bracket. These guys will hurry the batters, may induce false shots, but won't rattle that frequently. Bumrah is the exception but thats because of his delayed release. If you're expecting Sen to be an express bowler, then he is not. He is what we call as a "fast bowler". India material, well I agree that rope is closer to end now. We shouldn't play inexperienced bowlers who are 30+ at all (unless they have a strong secondary skill) Sen, Akash are 28, Yudhvir 27, Prasidh 29. Focus should be on unearthing young fast bowlers who are under 25. Mosher and Lord 1 1
