He's definitely not 14.  Gonna turn 17 in September

It looks like all young players fudge by a couple of years to improve their chances of getting into the under 19 WC, which is kind of a gateway for bigger stages like the IPL and the ICT. I myself don't believe Suryavanshi is 14, he looks 16 at-least. But I don't care. Even a 24 year old would be proud to play an innings like that.

It is a ridiculously impressive innings for anyone , let alone a 16 year old.

Real challenge for Vaibhav starts. He'll handle new found fame and also the teams will analyse. He'll eventually have some failures. How he handles them will be key. In good hands under Dravid.

Listen to Varun aaron, bishop segment on cricinfo. THere were already some analysis on that about his control against each type of deliveries.  SLower ball, round the wicket, short ball. Bishop was like "I don't care " lol. As grade cricketer says he can go to hiatus for next 10 years and he will still have time to have a great career. For the record Priyansh arya is 8 or 10 years older than him. That is one cricketing generation we are talking about

Sm was not there at his time, if it would have been there same claims/suggestion would have been made. think other cricketers and commentators do not say anything because they know its been going on for sometime and no point in discussing it or they have done it themeless.

tendulkar himself wasnt really 16.

I doubt. The thing with child prodigies like Tendulkar, Mhatre and others is that they've been tracked and followed since they were kids. Tendulkar was widely reported on since he was 10 or 11. Mhatre was interviewed when he was 6. There're not many chances for them to pull an Afridi or Rashid Khan. Even Suryavanshi was followed since he was a kid since late 2010s. Probably a year here or there but not 3-5 years the way prominent cheaters like Naseem Shah, Afridi or most Afg and Pak players are.

And anyone who saw Tendulkar making his debut as a 14 year old in domestic cricket, and as a 16 year old for India could see he wasn't an age cheat. Same with Mhatre and with Suryavanshi maybe a year or so. But none of them were 20 claiming to be 16 the way Naseem Shah, Afridi (both Shahid and Shaheen), and Rashid Khan did.

And with Adhaar card and more strict rules & regulations around birth certificates, age fraud is not a major problem these days for most of India.

So if some1 wants to play prof. cricket in Ind at any level the 1st thing to get is to get fake brth crtifct before they get kit bats shoes, so not hard to imagine of others were doing it sachin would not have done it.

Just look at some of the yt cliks on him debut at 16-17 does not look that yng spcl for that time he was 5.6 at 16-15 and didnt gain any height after that  ....??

He looked young enough based on what I've seen of him. As I said an year here or there but not something which was earth shattering.

Raghuvanshi seems a better batsman for longer format. He is taller so has better reach, reminds a lot about young Gill (with better technique against spin).

Suryavanshi is aggressive but has some limitations, but he has immense time in his hand.

So 2 years of variance, can be likely.

Though some reports say that he has been bone tested by BCCI...bone testing will tell your exact DOB.

Even if he is 2 years older, it shouldn't be an issue at all. Can't remember the last time a 16 year old has taken the world by storm like this.
