This is act of war. Let Modi call it so.

 

No trade deal with EU or UK or any Western country if they don’t call it act of war. Infact add a clause in BTA on future security incidents.

All tourists.

 

Army took 20 minutes to get there, heard a woman saying in one of the videos.

 

Major security lapse. 

 

GD Bakshi was saying our army is terribly understaffed due to no recruitment for 3 years, so spread sparsely. An RR unit which used to guard one sector now has to guard two.

Yes, cross border action is imminent. Haven't seen public this united and thirsty for revenge since Pulwama.

It’s not easy to attack Pakistan, bro. They’re a nuclear state, backed by China, and their army is pretty strong. India can only launch a full-fledged attack on Pakistan if the U.S. supports us and supplies arms, like they’re doing for Israel. But even then, the U.S. needs Pakistan to maintain control over the Afghan border. So yeah, it’s complicated — and unfortunately, India has very limited options. I wouldn’t want to be in Modi’s shoes right now.

For months now its been known that 50+ armed terrorists are roaming in the mountains, operating with advanced opsec.  Why wasn't this threat treated with the seriousness and the risk it represented? Now they're gonna pretend they are 'going after them'. 

 

Complacency in government is super costly.

 

The govt is going to be under pressure to retaliate, but even if we do a Balakot 2, with more unambiguous 'success', is it enough? 

 

This is not acceptable.

Can't risk war, but can't not retaliate overtly.  This is going to get messy over the next couple of weeks. I hope the action that takes place, results in concrete tactical gains that are durable and not just short-term.

I fear there are more casualties. 2000 tourists  were there in the picnic spot without any security or police cover. This is a serious lapse and such things will not happen without local support. 
 

This is definitely a small scale 26/11 type attack on civilians. I don’t believe  in any local candle light vigils

PoK is filled with same demographic. No use in getting that land back unless you change the demographic.

no need to bother with "pok".

 

I'm sure Ind Mil must have studied the current LoC and identified how and where they can 'restructure it to make it easy to control/fence/defend.  Open up all along the LoC, take a few dozen km of land. Non residential.  Declare it the new LoC administered by Indian army.  Fence it, mine it, drone it.  But choose the terrain that is favorable.  Like Israel did with the Golan Heights.

Does China not think the same about us - when they squat on our lands - that we also have a strong army and are a N country ?

 

Truth is we are a very soft state. 
 

The response has to be massively disproportional- not on atankwadi pilleys across the Loc - but wiping out several very senior  fauj officers in Pak. This is the best way to strike fear in their hearts - because they are ones doing this - the atankwadis are just cannon fodder and a waste of time - they have unlimited supply. 
 

And this is the smartest approach because it will ensure we don’t get into a protracted kinetic operation where we too can suffer collateral damage.

not cool to censor that little relavant tidbit of info there but also, his 'source' is gonna be fingerpointing by 'sources' from security agencies.

masti aside, I agree with most of what you said.  But GoI is gonna need to show tangible action in the near term. This can get messy...
