Check the size of the crowds in Dhaka rallying against equal rights to women. Like Iran 1979 movement but at least Iranian women are encouraged to pursue education, employment (70% of their STEM graduates are women). These BD Islamists want blanket ban on education, employment for their women.

Kanglus were at least ending poverty by producing chaddis.

Now even that will be gone.

Borders need to be strengthened.

Imagine a first world India surrounded by two third world basketcases in the 2050s.

India's BD tour and Asia Cup more or less cancelled as per recent reports.

Also hockey Asia Cup will go ahead without Pak participation. If they want let them qualify to WC through the qualifiers next Feb. HI is chad in that way, in last women's ACT they invited China and displayed a gigantic 'correct' map of India (including Aksai Chin) at the stadium entrance. BCCI would never have the guts.

Hold a different tournament with SL, Afg, Nepal etc.

Call it something else - "Asian Championship" or some ****

Truly idiots.

Bang was doing well economically etc etc.

Now they have gone full islam.

Jamaati mofos opposed independence.

The thing with these right-wing religious nutjobs is that they would rather destroy themselves and be religious than prosper while being tad more liberal.

Funny thing is the oil rich Arabs clamp down on nutjobs to achieve wealth.

They look down on the poorer muslims and look up to whites.

I have noticed something.

Due to rising Indian economy, India is becoming more important in hockey. Like more and more events are being hosted in India.

Should look to get BCCI like power in 10-15 years.

We will rise in hockey but still gora block has too many members unlike cricket. And it is a top 5 team sport in each of those countries, in fact Dutch take it very seriously and is number 2 overall sport there (team+individual)....check out how many astro turfs they have, something like 600, we may get to 100 if we keep investing at the current rate for 10 more years, massive gulf !!!!!!

I expect us to become centre of the chess world with the decline/isolation of Russia. FIDE will fall under our control in next 1-2 election cycles, and we will be this century's USSR/Russia in such a prominent game. Even more exciting than our ICC dominance. The prestige associated with chess is something else man, USSR had so much soft power just because of their dominance in chess, and how Americans viewed Fischer's triumph over Spassky in 1972.

Yup, they have a set heirarchy...

1. Rich Arabs belonging to royalty

2. White people from Western countries

3. Regular Arabs not belonging to royal family

4. Non-white passport holders of western countries

5. White people from eastern european countries

6. Muslims from other countries

7. Non-muslims

Yeah still.

The thing we have in our favour like everything is increasing $$$. Hopefully the team becomes better as does the HIL

One real good thing about sports like hockey, badminton, chess etc is no kanglus, bakis etc

Cricket seems to be going the same way.

Asia Cup (and that stupid Wagah border ceremony) should be removed as it shows a level of parity which does not exist.

I'm a pessimist on the hockey front. No matter how talented we are, goras will never allow us to be winners. They'll have the refs who'll rule against us and keeping us down. The best we can hope for is 3rd or 4th position coz we won't get fair refereeing. The world is racist and that's the bitter truth.

Only way to defeat racism and goras is to become richer than them.

Aus/Eng were also defeated in cricket.

Considering where Ind hockey has come in a decade, I'm positive for the future.

Might take some time to break the gora chokehold but should be doable in 15-20 years.

We don't hold the same power in hockey which we do in cricket. You can't take on most of Europe and Aus, and that too when we're not a big market for Hockey the way we are with cricket.

In the future is what I meant.

Ultimately Indian economy is growing. If that couples with increased interest in the sport (which should come with more success) don't see why India should not have that power. USA/China aren't there.

In 15-20 years.
