If he really wanted to retire, he would have announced it and not just "leaked" news to the press that he is intending to retire and have BCCI folks line up to convince him. If you want to retire, you just announce it and go. The game is bigger than the individual. Honestly, I would rather prefer a new batting order with domestic performers being given a preference than keeping Kohli around. They might also fail, but at least there is some hope for the future. There is no point in continuing to invest in Kohli who is way past it. This tour its okay. Youngsters should be introduced only in home series unless we are ready to back them after expected failure in England

Looks like dnt want much publicity So both will continue to play ODIs but there are hardly any ODIs gets played now. SO better retire from all formats Probably wants to chase 1 more ODI WC

Ganguly, Dravid both debuted in England and helped us draw the matches that we would have lost otherwise. More recently, Shubman Gill and Mayank Agarwal had debuted in Australia and did well in their first series. nevada 1

Ultimate_Game Posted May 11 Posted May 11 (edited) Why tell BCCI? Just retire already! And BCCI, you phuckers why insist on Kohli playing Tests? What exactly has he done over the last 5-6 years while averaging 30 and being the worst no. 4 batter across all teams, including Pak and B'desh! BCCI should be relieved that Kohli is thinking of bowing out himself. I would've hoped they would've jumped for joy and taken up his offer instantly! Sai Sudarshan is a replacement who's ready to step in. And TBH he can't do any worse than what Kohli has done over the last few years. Edited May 11 by Ultimate_Game diga 1
New guy Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Not even 10k runs and average under 47. Didn't think his test career would end like this when he was at his peak.
Lone Wolf Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Please Chokli don't back out.... Kela YBJ Sai Gill (c) likely Pant Jurel/Sarfaraz/NKR Jadeja Harshit Siraj Bumrah Prasidh Lord 1
kosingh Posted May 11 Posted May 11 I suspect he wants the theater of a farewell test or something like that.

Ultimate_Game Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Now this selfish piece of shyte will drag this drama for another couple of years Hasn't done shyte in Tests for ages and instrumental in losing us the NZ series at home and BGT away. Never showed up in Tests away from home in his entire career, and rode on others' coattails. He deserved to be dropped and here he's creating this drama about "retiring".
wanted_desi Posted May 11 Posted May 11 I don’t even mind him in the England series. It’s just funny to see him getting out like a tailender.
Bigg Brother Posted May 11 Posted May 11 What a sorry looking test career this was. Complete liability since last 5 years, average of 46 while his contemporaries are averaging 50+ and scoring 10k+ runs.. Rohit-Kohli-Pujara all three disappointed, had so hopes about them when they started 12-13 years ago... nevada 1
