Is Toddy the British corruption of the Hindi word ‘taadi/taarhi’ ?

Probably. Growing up, there were Toddy shops and Arrack shops where men who'd go in walking would come out dancing :-)!!

I still want impact sub to be removed. All the stats you get in this is cheating.

No it gives opportunity to more Indians

But they count these stats as part of T20 stats. Rohit after eating vada pav for 20 overs come and bat without doing anything. Same with Head and a few others.

That's team problem. RCB used it really well as did PBKs

All interest was lost after the war

I liked it as there was a chance of new winner going into final

however the post scenes including deatgs have soured it a bit but that is not on IPL giverning council but on RCB and Bangalore

One of the most enjoyable seasons due to advent of power hitters at the top like Suryavanshi, Arya, Mhatre combined with Jaiswal and Abhishek. Plus we've down the order hitters too in Naman Dhir, Ashutosh, Samad, and Shahrukh. Overall, batting is in good hands. Bowling and all-rounders are what we need to focus on.

I hope we do away with the useless Impact Player rule which brings in the balance and helps us uncover all-rounders.

Yup I liked it because  it was a success for smaller premiere leagues. Shout out to TNPL who initiated this concept.

It does not help with developing batting allrounders.

It only stops bits and pieces from playing. True all rounders like Hardik, Axar, Vipraj still flourish

True allrounders are not enough because in IT20's you don't have impact sub. Youll need bits and pieces to chip in with an over or even two.

Sometimes you need opportunities to get better. Give these players exposure and they'll get better. Impact Player rule is killing the fringe or potential all-rounders. Likes of Abhishek, Rinku, Parag, Nitish etc. barely get to bowl as it's easier for teams to bring in an Impact Player. If there wasn't an impact Player you'll see these players bowl a lot more and develop like Maxwell or NZ spinners did.

Parag bowled enough. Nitish didnt bowl due to injury.

Its a trade off. Fake ARs vs finding new players like Ashutosh,Suryavanshi etc
