This is terrible . This could happen to any plane anybody. . Life is so vulnerable. I have had fear every flight during take off , or or turbulence esp after 9/11. I hope there is no sabotage, just plain tragedy

Tillu Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Why do we never hear such major aviation disasters in western countries when they generally operate the most number of planes. Do they have better flight safety standards and protocols? Lord 1
EnterTheVoid Posted June 12 Posted June 12 2 hours ago, cowboysfan said: mayday call given by pilots immediately.what could have happened within 2 minutes of takeoff? Pilot here. Until the plane gets airborne and has a positive rate of climb, it's in the most dangerous phase of flight. Close to the ground and not enough altitude to recover. They were 700 feet off the ground, they had nothing to work with. coffee_rules 1

Dreamliners like 787 doesnt come down from sky like that. Infact it is the first 787 crash. Written all over. Both engines can't go bad within 1 minute of take off. Pilots were just gliding the plane to crash site. Again, Both engines stopped within a minute of take off! Lord 1
Tillu Posted June 12 Posted June 12 At this point you should all book tickets only on Indigo airlines as they operate only Airbus flights. Lord 1
EnterTheVoid Posted June 12 Posted June 12 The plane was on a long haul flight. Meaning, the tanks were full of fuel. Meaning, the fuel contributed to the fire. If you need to come in for an emergency landing, you circle around and dump the fuel. This reduces the risk of fire. It also reduces the overall weight of the aircraft. The plane doesn't need to fly as fast to generate the lift to counteract the aircraft's weight. And can come to a stop with in a shorter distance on the runway. I6MTW, diga, Tillu and 1 other 4
