Want the feritility rate to fall to 0.45678

Want the feritility rate to fall to 0.45678 Taiwan in 2026 will be the lowest in the world btw at 0.6 In 2025, it was 0.69. Taiwan and Thailand have the worst TFR in the world.

But bringing in newer generations in an India with jobless economic growth , scarce resources and high pollution will be an even bigger nightmare I'm somewhat hopeful of the pollution scenario(with renewables and more efficient AUSC coal plants etc.) but overall living standards have to improve as well

This is a pattern, richer the state/country...lower is their fertility rate. Most families have working husband n wife and having one kid is enough, as taking care of two require nanny and extra supervision even by the grand parents, which in today's case is extremely tough in Mega cities. I remember all my aunts and uncles had between 3 to 5 kids, but now in my generation, due to govt. policies and work pressure, managing even 2 is a big headache. Edited April 5 by singhvivek141

Who'll take care of whom will be a big question mark.

Had we implemented proper population control programmes in the 50's and 60's we would have been better off now. 18 % of the world's population with 4 % of the world's freshwater. And even a lot of that is overextracted for agriculture to support this population. Water scarcity is the biggest looming crisis facing India going forward

The living standards of our mega cities are very very bad. We do not realise it.
G_B_ Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Tfr will show a bounce in coming years. Is post covid period. Marraiges were delayed. Should be around 2.00 by 2028/2029.

Is projected to rise to 3000 by 2050. Any reading above 3000 means country is producing good amounts of food for citizenry. Our projections are 1.66 billion by 2050.

rkt.india Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Country can't become developed with this amount of population. People have doubts that 1.4 billion population of China is a false number after they adopted a one child policy in 80s.
