Not to keep harping on Gabba 2020-21, but look at the bowling attack there

With such pitches it becomes a 4th innings shootout with chasing team having advantage.

We are notoriously poor chasers in tests man. Gabba was an outlier, in fact looked like our players were possessed in those final 3 tests.

It was an outlier because the selected team was an outlier team. Young, hungry, selfless players with good-enough skills. A captain who knew how push the right buttons. And yes, a players' coach who did not act like a school principal. It should be a blueprint for success, but unfortunately, it will continue to be an outlier concept.

I am worried about how Gambhir keeps going after Pant. He criticized him even last test. He had sent the message in first innings and pant was out next ball.

 

He is going to destroy one of our best test talents.

Also was mum when Bumrah's body was destroyed in Aus. 

 

He can be a good option in white ball but no way in tests. Someone like Andy Flower should coach our test team, with a Bharat Arun or Gillespie as dedicated pace bowling coach. 

 

Flower did wonders with Poms in early 2010s. Gillespie has creds from county, and responsible for Ishant 2.0. And Arun is a gem. Surely BCCI can afford the biggest names to coach our sides.

Gill would have given thakur 50 over old ball in both innings in Gabba. Ipl captain doesn't seem to understand that there's no impact sub in test cricket, you have fully utilise the resources available

Chandrakant Pandit was the unsung hero with KKR,GG stole all the limelight besides Chandrakant Pandit has red ball credentials too ,took Vidarbha and MP to Ranji titles not too long ago

He maybe hard task master,but GG too isn't that popular with the guys in dressing room either

Lol if you think GG is a hard school principal you should see what even overseas KKR players say about Pandit. he's a good coach though.

IN the final test we lost Saini. At the MCG we lost Umesh Yadav on day 3. It cannot be a coincidence that we won both tests where we lost a bowler. Resource management  was excellent. Siraj bowled a marathon spell of 9 overs 2 for 14 in his debut in order to cover for Umesh. He was relatively younger if not stronger. Back then during covid workload was relatively low for new comers.

Siraj was much leaner back then. Looks like he's had one too many biryani's since then.

Siraj had hunger back then, also wasn't a spoilt brat. Look at his behavior these days, throwing balls at batsmen, swearing at them when going gets tough, picking fights for no reason, behaves like a thug. In contrast, look how composed Bumrah and Shami are, even when under the pump.

BCCI's strange rule of 60 years as cutoff age for being international coach will rule out Chandrakant Pandit...

Siraj does it for camera,learnt it from haaRCB days

He knows doing this much and being part of the clique will help him rather performing with the ball

Siraj less India won two back to back icc trophies that too one with Shami on last legs
