What stops the other 5 specialist batsmen except Yashasvi Jaiswal to fill up the gap in averages between (52 iirc) and whatever Rishabh Pant is at. Certainly if Yashasvi Jaiswal can score at avg 52 then why are other specialist batsmen struggling around 40 or below. Jaiswal and pant both are benefitted by being left handers. Most team teams play left arm spinners and leg spinners which are easier to face for left handers on turning tracks. Left handers do have their advantages if they are good. Not many bowlers bowl well against left handers.

A good batsman will have a good average.

Even generally, many fast bowlers too don't bowl that well to left handers. For example , Pat Cummins. His stats against lefties and righties are completely different.

Its easy to claim because you "feel" somthing, doesn't make it true. The big 3 of Kane, Root and Smith are all right handers. Pant's audicious range of shots contribute to his success, which right hande rin the team tries those shots or has that range? Edited Saturday at 04:57 AM by New guy lemsip and express bowling 2

There is no simple logic in the statement that it is easy for left handed batsmen to score runs than right handed ones. Rather than logic, it is perception or an opinion but not a fact. express bowling 1

Jadeja has no such shots, he still is one of the most successful indian batter in the last five years and batting isn't even his strongest suite. Kane, root, Smith are right handers yes, but even generally there are more right hand batsmen in the world. So more chances of finding great right hand batsmen than great left handers. In the current XI, you have 8 right handers, 3 left handers. So that's the usual ratio. On spinning tracks, you need good off spinner against them because left arm spinners and leg spinners are easier for them to face. I am not saying every left hander will be good. He has to be a good batsman too. Lord 1
