Just earn enough, invest and move out of the rat race.

Once you kick the bucket, you are nothing but a distant memory to your family and spouse. 99% IT jeet's do not know this and run like a fool behind money to satisfy themselves or to get a approval rating from wife/Girlfriend/Mom/Dad,

BC...adopt your inner baalayya and you will be the king.

Those it jeets are driving the economy..

Its funny though the likes of china chased rapid growth and 9-9-6 type of office life but it appears to be counter productive as their tfr is at 1.0..

I taught many chinese students in the uk as a phd lecturer. The only way they could afford 40 lakh fees+ living expense was they were only child supported by 2 parents and 4 grandparents. The pressure on them was immense.

We will know in the next 30 years if the chinese approach of rapid growth and then potentially demographic decline (aka a japan)  is better than growing by 5% consistently and somewhat maintaining tfr is way forward.

Urbanisation results in stress...lesson for india is we need 50 to 60 cities that are vibrant and have a pop of 1 to 2 million. Large enough for critical mass for jobs etc but small enough for decent commute and affordable housing.

Indians in their 20s should try building up skills n money in big metros. But in their 30s need to consider these tier 3 and 4 cities for quality of life.

As an anecdote, i remember visiting baroda. Small city where you could live 20 km away from the center and reach in 30min by car/bike. People were poorer and less driven than Mumbai. But happier and less stressed.

Same feeling in Nashik as Baroda.

The main issue with small towns is that rotten caste politics and semi-dehati behaviour. The expertise is non-existent and the work ethic is so bad that you pull your hair out.
