We need to check some impact analysis of each innings, each spells depending on conditions, opposition, situations, context. Especially youngsters

 

 

Shaik Rasheed (AP) vs Odisha.     140  in a score 475/7 declared.    3 othe fifties. Openers made 76, 93.  So one must say easier batting conditions on day 1.  Positive is he is only 21. Played a couple of innings for CSK  also made anothe 136 against UP

 

Yash DHull (Delhi) vs HP     61 ( 5 othe guys scored 50s) & 70  Age is 22

 

Ayush Doseja (Delhi) vs HP   75  ( 5 other guy scored 50s) &  64*  Age is 23 .  Just 2 first class games average 174, made 209 in another game at a strike rate of 75

 

Aquib Nabhi  (J*K) vs Rakesthan   3 for 29  & 7 for 27 &  55 runs  - Solid all round performance.  Yudvhir also got a 55  28 years old. Must be tested soon. age not on his side

 

Ayush Pandey (Chattisgarh) vs Mumbai   50 &  117 not out -  average 46 in first class.  22 years old 

 

Arjun Azad (Chandigarh) vs Mahrasthra  29 & 168  (17 fours 6 sixes) -  valiant 168 in saving the match.  2 games in FC. averages 89  24 years old

 

RIyan parag (Assam) vs Services  36  &12  and  5 for 25 & 2 for 31 - Probably a spin pitch. But given that he opened the bowling he should be fasttracked 23 years old

 

Manav Suthar vs Chattisgarh  3 for 72 and 8 for 42  - 

 

Ruturaj Gaikwad   91 & 55 not out against Kerala    made another 110 in tough situation 27 years old. Low scoring match both times

First inns lead. Thats what they wanted first, and then ensure Mumbai can never catchup the deficit.

Ranji prioritizes first inns lead.

I understood that but the opportunity to defeat Mumbai of all teams should not be compromised

GUys whenever you highlight a performance of a player in a match  . Give some context to the innings.

One 31 year old has been selected, in Australia all that matters is performance in their sheffield shield and test matches.  We should do the same, if one 40 year old is the best in Ranji, we should select him over some fresh faced wonder . Then everyone one will know only the best deserve playing for India. I don't remember Sachin's record but i think he was around the best when they selected him though he was a tiny little kid at that time.

TN has become a garbage team.  Any time they play on this Coimbatore venue they are the one who get thrashed. Last time thrashed by Jharkand by an innings here. Now thrashed by Vidarba at the same venue.

TN problem is pace, they dont have quality pacers and rely heavily on spinners.

Coimbatore wkt is pacer friendly, where spinners end up struggling.

Chennai pitch will suit them more.

Why doesn't Ashwin play Ranji? Jaddu always turns up for Saurashtra when he is free. 

 

Ultimately, some teams have people more invested in Ranjil, people who take pride in the tournament's history/prestige. Mumbai being the foremost example, Sachin, Zaheer (now Rahane, Jaiswal, Thakur etc.) always turned up for Mumbai when they didn't have international commitments. Maybe there is a problem with TN team culture or how TNCA runs cricket there. Otherwise a state which has churned out Ashwin, Sundar, Vijay, DK, Natarajan, Chakri, 3D Shankar etc. shouldn't struggle against Nagaland !!!!

I think Ashwin doesn't want to steal a spot as he is retired. TN is left with Pradosh and indrajith.
