For what ?has retired from red ball

At this juncture, better to leave it for some newcomer, let others develop their game

Him playing Ranji will give a boost to the competition. Doesn't matter if he has retired, he can bring in better crowds, better chance at making deep runs. Kuch nahi toh kam se kam, Sai Kishore type guys can gain from his mentoring. Give back something to the sport or state which has given so much to him.

This is why Jadeja is different to these other big names of Indian cricket. To some extent Shami as well.

Last I heard TN crowd don't really watch cricket for big names

Atbest ,he can play 1 season,he doesn't have Jadeja level fitness to feature continuously untired

He should mentor TN cricket without playing Ranjis and blocking someone else, that will be rather helpful

Ashwin used to play for TN till he was 34-35. Stopped post COVID.

Now he is not eligible to play for any BCCI organized tournaments. Had to announce retirement from Indian cricket to explore playing in BBL  and other leagues. At 39, he's given it his all. Could easily have retired 4-4 years back and still be an Indian legend.

No point comparing with Jadeja, he is still active and is following BCCI guidance on playing domestic cricket.

Oops, forgot about that.

Anyway hope he returns in some administrative role in TNCA (a la Kumble/Srinath/Venky for KSCA) or as coach/mentor for their state team. TN cricket can do way better.

His youtube coverage of Ranji is a positive step. I look at Ashwin as someone who should be in thick of things unearthing youngsters across India not just TN.  For TN he is already doing that in TNPL

Mentoring can be done in a mentor/coach role.

Jadeja playing Ramji’s is good but he is still an active cricketer

I think Ashwin retired so he could play other leagues. He has been still huge selling point for big bash.

Dhull got an unfair call but didnt look convincing in his short stay either

Didn't look convincing doesn't mean he should get a bad call. Batsmen struggle and find their touch and do well all the time but poor call is poor call.

Never justified the bad decision of the umpire:thinking:

Anyways stuff like this evens out eventually. Sometimes calls go their way and sometimes dont

Why is Umran Malik missing again ?

13 FC matches, 16 wickets@47 should tell you the story.

No wickets in a match where J&K bundled out Rajsthan for 152 and 89.

In a team like J&K which topped its Ranji Elite group last year, he will have to prove his worth by taking wickets and showing he belongs to the FC level. Cannot expect a 5-star treatment when the team has done so well without him.

At this rate TN will be relegated lol Getting beaten by Andhra now.

karnataka has fallen off but TN   has has had a bigger fall and it's not like they don't have talented players.
