BacktoCricaddict Posted July 30, 2025 Author Posted July 30, 2025 (edited) The confusing part is that some stadiums are named for their locality, some for their shape, others for their sponsor, and yet others for their sponsor and shape combined. Other than Laards and Ellipse, everything else was confusing, Until ICF set me straight. Added in edit: And then there is Tunbridge Wells (the name is etched in my memory forever. Is it a locality? Or stadium name? Can't be a shape). No TV, no video evidence, but great memories of reading morning newspaper scoreboard in disbelief showing that Kapil Dev had scored 175 to lead India to a historic win! Vis Ragahavan the current head of Inv banking in Citigroup was the ex CEO of JP morgan Europe. Being a cricket fan when he was in JP he decided to sponsor the whole of lords and you can see its all jp morgan written everywhere in stands. Rumor has it that they wanted to rename lords and was willing to pay a huge money to name it jp morgan lords. Lords politely declined .. Mariyam 1
