Will be a fight to the death between him and a 36 year old Woakes who is also being made to play 5 in a row. Woakes has already bowled 167 overs this series to Siraj's 139.

Bumrah was hardly able to walk after England innings ended. Everyone saw that. He wasn't going to miraculously heal in 3 days.

If it's a calf injury, he'd better take months off to heal completely. Otherwise he may have to take a year or more off if his achilles gives out.

Bumrah cannot be blamed for playing only three tests.I have issues of Bumrah not showing up in big spots but not this.

Woakes is a trundler who swings the ball. He can even bowl 200 overs. Bumrah is an effort bowler. Woakes average 50+ in this series. Bumrah 25.

While I'm all for the Stokes praise, let's keep things in context. 

 

Since 14th July 2021,

 

Stokes has played only 13 ODIs and 16 T20's in all domestic franchise + internationals. 

 

Out of those 13 ODIs, he has bowled only in 3 of them .

 

In 44 Tests, he has only bowled in 54 innings. 

 

His multi format workload in the last 4 years has been non-existent. 

 

He has bowled only in Tests and even then he didn't bowl in many innings like the Indian tour etc.
