Yes Siraj added 39 partnership for last wicket. Also siraj scored a dashing century in the 2nd innings.  Siraj dismissed ROot in the 2nd innings.   Bumrah's absence made all of this possible.  SOmehow Bumrah's rpesence made sure India get blown away for 170 odd on placid Lords wickets.

If Bumrah does not get needed wickets, the pitch is a road.... or "becoming a road"...... agreed.

If Bumrah does get the wickets, oh that is Bumrah and he is the best thing since sliced bread...... agreed.

If Siraj/Akashdeep get wickets and India wins - it was a spicy pitch. If Bumrah had played he would have outperformed them..... absolutely agreed!!

Bumrah took fifer at Lords. He dismissed the key players in the first innings.

 

Bumrah took 7 for 112

Siraj took  4 for 116

Akash deep took   1 for 122

 

Somehow Bumrah was the responsible party for that loss. Did anyone stop them from taking wickets? Why was Akash deep down on pace. Bowling at 130kph in just one test?

 

No one in the world would say "Bumrah makes a side bad" . He will make the side better. If others fail to deliver that problem is with them. Not Bumrah.

Pakistan is an enemy country. The smiles can wait. It is natural for fans to point it out. How often do you see players giggling with opposition player right after a big loss, let alone an India Pak game?

 

He did give his all in games he played. Numbers back that up. Good average despite flat wickets. Was our best bowler in Headingly and Lords and did okay comparatively in Manchester. We lost Lords rdue to batsmen not chasing 190 and even Headingly due to drop catches. No bowler can do much if you keep dropping catches. Oin firnly 2nd innings there was bad on ultra flat pitch where other bowlers couldnt even contain

 

Fast bowler especially with unorthodox action have to be managed. There is no crime here.

The problem is Bumrah played the IPL and told he will play only 3 tests.Most of the anger is regarding that he chose IPL over test.

 

There were many days of rest between test and he could have played atleast 4 test.When he played it felt he bowled within himself and was not effective. 

 

India won both the test he rested and the Siraj,Prasiddh, Akashdeep elevated their performance when Bumrah was not playing.

1998 we lost the test series in Zim, couldn't chase 220 against Streak, Olonga, Mbangwa, Paul Strang. 

 

2001 we drew there 1-1. 

 

Only place where we could win was Bangladesh, that too after getting a 1st innings scare. The reason our test win % is worse than SL, Pak today is those old era clowns. 12 out of our 31 wins in SENA have come since 2018 Jan.
