For what it’s worth, I haven’t been able to tell the difference in this milawti petrol and the regular type. Although I do mostly city driving.

About 30 pc reduction in the mileage. From about 13 to 9

 

And the automatic gear has started making sounds with hiccups on braking

If by regular you mean non or minimum milawti; then:
 

XP 100 available at Indian Oil petrol pumps.

But automatic gear box got nothing to do with petrol. Petrol goes to engine, not into gearbox. Gearbox has a specialized transmission fluid.

could be/ but that change has happened along with the reduction in mileage.

The only available clean non ethanol petrol is 160Rs. Indian oil is giving it in some pumps

ethanol based petrol has hydration leaking into parts as I have read. That could be the reason
