You need Dube's power on those slow wickets in Dubai , especially first innings batting. Also he can bowl an over or two. 

 

Prasidh was the best bowler in the IPL and we are without Bumrah and it's probably worth a try. 

 

If he wasnt hit on IPL wickets, it'll be tougher to hit him in Dubai. Kamboj is completely useless as of now.

I'm thinking of this squad as prep for WT20. I don't see Dube there. Had a bad IPL and now we have better options. Reddy was good in few T20s he played.

 

Prasidh/Siraj are quite unreliable. I think their IPL performances were due to Nehra being there. Kamboj did okay in IPL games he played. It will also help to reduce workload on pacers

How can you drop someone with 3 100s in his last 10-12 innings?

 

Same with Tilak, 2 100s at number 3 in last 7 innings. Deserves a long run without being asked to float around.

 

To accomodate Jaiswal and Iyer, I hope the TM doesn't tinker with a well settled 11 that has won everything since the T20 WC. As good as they both are, they will have to wait for their chances in T20I.

 

Hardik, Rinku, Dube, Axar - this has to be our lower middle order. All used to batting at 5 and below and flexible to move around in the order

Gareeb Poor Rinku was better version.

We need guys who can step hit meaning they ought to be tall. These shrot guys struggle in T20 formats when it comes to accelerating at will.  Relatively tall and strong hitters. Short guys have so many moving parts. Pant, Rinku can all be stifled with certain lengths.

On those pitches of South Africa, scoring two 100s is not a big thing. Tilak Varma had an average IPL as well. He shouldn't have been there in the first place. Was tried as an option when the main players were rested, should remain so.

Absolutely... Even Dube is a better option than Rinku at this moment.

That guy is woefully out of touch and isn't even lighting up domestic cricket.

It will be stupid of selectors to include him over Parag Dube or even Iyer at this point.

Form doesn't matter. We have reached a point in T20s where anyone can score on a given day. It is too random. Apart from openers, no one is consistent. 

 

For best results, it is ideal to take our best hitters in the middle order and lower order. Currently, we have only two middle order batsmen who can pace, spin, hard length, slow balls and don't have a weakness. They are Riyan Parag and Patidar, apart from SKY. Samson is a candidate too but for once fix him as an opener. 

 

That's Gambo's mentality.

I honestly hate this Asia cup when the actual better LOI sides are Australia, I would rather want my batsmen play 100 than this crap on those dud UAE wickets.
